This Suns team currently has the 9th worst foul differential in NBA history.
This season the Suns have been called for 1 foul for every 0.82 fouls their opponents have been called for. Out of 1274 teams in NBA history that's the 9th worst ratio of all time. In fact it's by far the worst in the last 5 seasons.

PHX 2018-19: 0.82
ORL 2014-15: 0.86
SAC 2017-18: 0.87
MEM 2017-18: 0.88
NYK 2014-15: 0.88
PHI 2015-16: 0.88
ORL 2015-16: 0.88

If he's not hitting 3s, he's a negative for us. Not what you want out of a point guard.
He is shooting over 35% from 3 this year, which is fine. Puts him 5th on the team, and well ahead of Booker.

But he is taking 5th most shots of anyone on the team, only shoots sub 40% overall, meaning he is top 5 in FGAs but bottom 5 in Points/Game.

And he has a net O-D rating of -19, putting him in bottom 5 of that too (with guys like Anderson and Josh).

We have played him 5th most minutes. If we just played him as a stop-gap 3rd string PG for 5-8 minutes a night, we could be fine. But we are relying on him for 27 minutes/night. That is a recipe for failure.

What are the alternatives to Canaan?
  • Melton
  • Okobo
  • Tighten the rotation. More PointBook, more Crawford.
  • Make a deal
  • Any other suggestions?

Josh Jackson in the minutes that Crawford is on the floor.

Trade Ariza for Fultz. Start Bridges. Draft Zion. Sign Walker.

Well, that was easy. If only, I would sign up for that plan.

So as we all know it's been brutal so far although we are looking a little better last week or so. The schedule comments I thought were fair as we honestly did have some tough games to start, here's another schedule tidbit
I don't have the time now to see if this is normal for most teams but my first reaction was it seems kinda strange to have so many back to backs that include travel
Oh well, schedule and foul trends combined with our own roster flaws does make for some tough sledding

I know it's been a tough schedule and doesn't seem to be getting any easier for the next 7, but it seems that most of the teams this year got better and/or aren't tanking. Heck, we get a team that you would think is a winnable game(Chicago) and then they play flat and lose it. (I'm going to blame Igor for starting Canaan and the rest of the team playing flat because they know it wasn't the right thing to do)

All schedules are not created equal. It is known that we have the 4th toughest schedule for the entire season. The first quarter harder than the rest.

I'd rather us play a tough schedule early, get our teeth kicked in and learn what it takes to compete than have a soft schedule early on and some hollow victories thinking we're better than we are.

Yeah, every other team in the league gets cakewalk games against the Suns and we’re the only team that doesn’t! No fair!

I want a real PG if you’re trading Ariza. Fultz is gonna be sold off for a second rounder or late first and trade fodder. There’s a strong chance Fultz doesn’t ever stay in the leauge due to his mental makeup performance wise. I’d rather trade for Mconnell If you’re giving up real pieces. TJ is a Nash-lite type player; he’s all hustle and can find the open man in addition to shooting the ball. I’d give up Ariza and take back fodder for him.

Kemba Walker was also part of his plan. He wasn’t putting our pg position solely in the hands of Fultz

Split :) You da man. Exactly, just see if it works out or not. Our season is already lost. I don't think he is a bust though. It seems he might just need a new and fresh environment. I want Kemba no matter what.
