It actually sets up well for the next gm because they have loads of picks and Noel,Embiid,Saric, and Okafor.

But yea the fact Hinkie has g=kind of bungled the last few drafts ultimately cost him his job. That backcourt is dreadful and they don't have enough to show for being the laughing stock of the L the last 3 years.
“Kobe had said (after the play) I wasn’t hugged enough as a child,” Bell recalled. “My mom kind of found him after the instance and we had beat them and offered him a hug in the bowels of the Phoenix arena. She really feels a part of that story.”

Hearing it could be Bryan to Philly. Haha.

How do you honestly think Hinkie has done? Are we judging him on his methods or his outcome? If he had tanked like that but then gotten, say, KAT and Wiggins, would we all be singing his praises?

I am kinda surprised by the hate on reddit towards BC from non Toronto fans. They are even trashing JC. They are acting like the Sixers are doomed by this hire. Kinda odd. BC has had his ups and downs but acting like it is the end of the world to lose Hinkie and get him seems odd.

The Toronto fans seem to be split on whether BC was good or not. Which seems about right. The difference here is that it is JC and BC together. I think they will do a pretty good job with the rebuild. The Sixers fans should be optimistic in my opinion.

I think people bought in a little too much into the strategy Hinkie was selling. The only thing he has really proven is that if you try really hard to lose you can actually lose almost all of your games. He did do a pretty good job at acquiring picks in trades but he failed to put even a semi competitive team on the floor.

Bryan's record in Toronto was definitely mixed. Whiffed on Bargnani, signed Landry Fields. Solid pick in Valanciunas and the BPA at #9 in DeRozan. I liked him as GM here, though he was not without his questionable decisions.

Marion, Amare, DeRozan... someone get that guy more #9 picks!

Makes me want to trade up to 8. :?

It is just interesting reading some of the posts on realgm and reddit. The amount of love for Hinkie is kinda crazy. A lot of people are posting that JC is garbage and Hinkie is the man. The amount of disrespect for JC is amazing.

I can understand some reluctance about BC but Hinkie hasn't done anything. They are touting this idea that Hinkie was about to turn them into a contender while already claiming BC will trade all their assets away for garbage. It is amusing. BC has a much better record than Hinkie. He at least has put together a contender.

These fans think that all they had to do was keep losing forever in the hopes that they get the next Duncan or Lebron. Having the number one pick likely gets you a possible all star but it isn't guaranteed. That doesn't make you a contender. The odds that the Sixers would land that next generational talent in the draft was low even if they keep bombing for the next 10 years.

Hinkie destroyed the Sixers. No one wants to play for that team and no one wants to watch that team play.

On another note the Nets lost again. I swear their mascot must be sleeping with the Celtic's mascot or something. They are trying their hardest to fuck us over.

It would really suck to slip to the 4th spot. We should shut down PJ and Chandler.

Washington won today. Although I think we are a lock for a lottery pick from them (12-14). They have to win out and the Pistons have to lose out for them to make the playoffs.

That's been my point every time the 76rs discussion comes up. The strategy itself is not bad, although you need to be ready to take not only the loses, but also the hit to reputation, fan attendance, etc.

Problem is you can't put all your eggs in the draft basket and have one year of injuried Noel, no Embiid, no Saric, dump two youngs who are at least showing up in MCW and McDaniels, etc.

The Colangeli intervention will be seen as an anti-tank measure by the League but it actually is just another caning of a GM who missed his shots. If instead of amassing incompatible big men Hinkie drafts a complete lineup, and he has had the picks to do so, he'd still have his job.

I guess the coach is next up.

They are obviously going to hire/promote Mike D to coach them. Would anybody here want Brown after Philly cans him?

Not surprised, and can't fault them. Mike D's style is again all the rage thanks to the W's, and the Nash Suns were their vision. I want to see BC manage the assets Hinkie acquired with so much suffering.
