I've warmed to Smith. I'd offer Okobo and the MIL pick. I'd love to get Dorian Finney-Smith.

Maybe something like Okobo/Bender/MIL pick for Smith Jr. and Finney Smith.

I just don't want Smith. Not crazy about his game, might be injury prone, doesn't seem to have a great rep and I certainly wouldn't want to give up Okobo or any of our other young players not named Bender for him.

I wouldn’t mind trying it except for the fact that he’s guaranteed $4.5 million next season and we need that cap space.

Gambo is refuting this now, says the Suns aren’t pursuing DSJ.

So does that mean Woj is being lazy and assuming since we need a PG?

I think the Magic can put together a package that better suits what Dallas is looking for.

It means Woj has Mavs sources, who are trying to up his trade value.

Ya, I’m sure dallas has called us about him. Orlando makes more sense though. I really don’t want DSJ. I’m sure I’d find something to be positive about if we traded for him, but I prefer to stick with Melton and Okobo

This dude isn't the playmaker we are looking for at the 1. Why would we be interested in him?

Honest question: what does Elie do better than DSJ? Keep in mind DSJ is also younger than Elie.

I get not wanting to move Melton, but Okobo presents the same fit issues with Booker that DSJ does, just with less talent.

He's not injury prone.

Do you think he’d be willing to let Melton still start? I don’t like the fit of DSJ and Booker, but if DSJ is unhappy playing alongside Doncic, I think he’d have issues playing alongside booker too. DSJ is a special athlete, but I haven’t seen any indication that he’s a real pg. He’s still a project and a big question mark. I’d just rather use our assets elsewhere and stick with Melton right now. I really like what he’s doing defensively for us and I feel like trading for DSJ would take a lot of his minutes away.

I made my post just before this topic went up.

Okobo and the MIL pick would be my limit. The pressure is on Dallas. Let someone else overpay or wait them out as his value drops each day we get closer to the deadline.

Okobo, Daniels, Milwaukee pick. I would not mind doing our first round pick this year if it is highly protected (like top 10).

You always put too much emphasis on age, 'bazz. DSJ has significantly more experience than Okobo.

And Okobo will be a shooter when it is all said and done, and I think he has more potential as a point guard. He is just very raw.
