"Trade" him to the G-League.

RE: Anthony Davis

A stupid hypothetical, but I'd make a deal with Booker as the center piece for AD if we knew AD would stick around.

This year has forced me to become less of a believer that Booker is a guy who can lead a team deep in the playoffs.

Nah you pair AD with Booker. I still think we can put a solid offer together if we're willing to move Ayton. I don't hate Ayton but you move him for AD and before the league realizes he's a very good player but not an 1A, dominant big.

Ayton or Booker; which would require less additional pieces in a trade for AD? That's the way I'm looking at it.

Also, scoring is Booker's only elite skill and I think that's the easiest skill to find among guards in the league.

I think a big like Ayton is more attractive to the Pels as a replacement big for Davis. They wouldn't miss a beat with Holiday and Randle still there and throw in a swing like TJ/JJ/Bridge/Oubre and they make out real well. The Lakers have a ton of young pieces and Kuz is a favorite of mine, but he's still a stretch PF who doesn't project to be a franchise big. Lonzo, Ingram, Hart...nice young players but they aren't really moving the needle.

An elite scorer/shooter like Booker isn't THAT easy to find. I think we're down on him a bit because he's asked to do so much for us that it's hurting his overall game. Pairing him opposite Davis would open up the floor for him, provided we, ahem, actually utilize Davis' offensive talents and not have him running around setting screens.

The fact that we regressed this year and solidified ourselves as an organizational doormat basically killed any chances at getting AD. Shame, because he was the one that McD was probably collecting 5 years of assets for. Of course, the actual on-court yield of those assets is what caused us to regress and took us out of the running for a player like AD (imagine if we had Jamal Murray, D-Mo and Fox from those 2 drafts).

Since AD is not a possibility, I'd love to jump in and get some of the collateral damage - whether that's Ball if the Pels want to keep Holiday or Holiday if they do a full tear-down.

Yes. Or I’d trade for Holiday. TJ, Oubre Or JJ, Okobo, and protected pick. And we will still draft Zion or Ja.

I don't get this; New Orleans likes playing Jrue with another point guard. Jrue and Lonzo would be fine together.

And those campaigning for Lonzo Ball are gluttons for punishment.

Should be any day now, but it's a question of when not if.

Ya, Jrue seems like the ideal backcourt partner for Lonzo. Really Jrue just fits anywhere. He can play on or off the ball. He can guard both backcourt spots. I really like Jrue a lot. Don’t think there are 5 guards in the nba I’d rather have than him.

I wonder if Portland could be a dark horse candidate to trade for AD. McCollum/Nurkic for AD/Mirotic

Jrue/CJ/Moore/Randle/Nurkic is still a solid team

Not sure who Portland puts at the 2/3, but Lillard/AD is legit and Mirotic is a good piece next to them.

He's probably the best backcourt fit to Booker in the league.

You don’t want Jrue to be your best playey or focal point of the offense(curry, lillard, kyrie, kemba, etc.) But if you already have a star or two, and especially a perimeter one, Jrue just seems like the perfect 3rd star.

Honestly, is there a single team in the league that wouldn’t be better off trading one of their guards for Jrue?

Maybe Golden State, although I think a Curry-Jrue backcourt would still be phenomenal. Lose a little shooting, gain some playmaking and defense.
