Two of the best players in the league will be absent from the 2019-20 season. That really sucks.

Looks like James Harden and Mike D'Antoni found their only way to win a championship.

Incredible.

It definitely sucks. I have never seen a team suffer such catastrophic losses in the post-season before. Does this help the argument for more rest during the season? Probably not a coincidence they suffered it late in the season. It's mid-June and they've been playing basketball since mid-October. Nearly 8 months. I know GS is pretty good with resting guys. I do not know if they do it to the extent SA does or that Toronto did with Kawhi this year.

Congrats to Toronto. An organization with balls. Went out on a limb to improve their team without fear paralyzing them from making moves. They took a gamble on Kawhi and it damn well paid off. Even if he leaves, it was absolutely worth it.

This will likely accelerate the talk of shortening the NBA season to fewer than 82 games.

I don't know if shortening the season prevents these injuries from happening. Klay just landed wrong.

Didn't he have hamstring issues? Muscle fatigue can be a big contributing factor.

It’s crazy because just before the injury I said to myself, “Wow, he’s playing so great, he seems totally healthy, he must be fully recovered from the hamstring injury. At least I hope he isn’t risking anything.” But you may be right, just like with KD he may have been taking a risk by coming back in this series.

I had the exact same thing happen to me. Literally everything we saw with Klay was exactly how I experienced it (minus the NBA part). The end result was a torn ACL, and I believe some part of the reason I sustained that injury was due to muscle fatigue.

Pretty high but GS' injuries had as much to do with Toronto winning as Kawhi did.
It's amazing that if Embiid didn't get sick in that series, they might be the champs right now. I think they dropped a couple games to Toronto when he was under the weather and still only lost on a last second shot by Kawhi.

It doesn’t work like that though. Who’s to say they even get past the bucks.

Devastated by that Klay Thompson injury. I hope he and Durant both recover fully and get back to 100%. Those are both such tough injuries, though. Worried about the future of the Warriors now.

The warriors are fine...they can be a middle of the pack playoff team next year. Sucks for KD and Klay though...what a brutal series...two essentially year long injuries.

Will be fun to see the Curry show next year...he might have to play like Harden. West will be wide open, that will be fun.

Free agency will be interesting..I imagine KD is getting the max regardless. I know there was talk of GS offering Klay less than the max...does the injury give them an excuse to push that more? Does that open an opportunity for another team to steal him away?

Skip Bayless has done nothing but disrespect Kawhi Leonard since he left San Antonio. Can't wait to hear what he has to say now.

Agreed, but they probably have to trade Chris Paul along with a draft pick to bring in some other players.

Can the Warriors get cap relief if they resign Klay and KD doesn't opt out based on their inability to play at all next year? And if so, how funny would it be if they signed Kawhi?

Amongst the best of all time. The KG and Ray Allen trades Boston made in summer of '07 was big too cause they won it all the next year as well.
