Hunter can play the 4. He’s 6’8 225, 7’2 wingspan. He’s like Bridges with 20 pounds of muscle.

I still want a starting pg if we keep this pick and get Garland.

With all the bad luck the Warriors had, I wonder if they might entertain trading Draymond. TJ Warren would be really good in their system I think. Maybe they might consider TJ, Jackson, and the #6? That can help rebuild their bench, add some guys on reasonable contracts, especially if they still give Klay and KD the max.

I think Draymond would be the perfect PF to put next to Ayton. It gives us a veteran with championship experience. I don't know, just thinking out loud.
Can he shoot though? We have to have a PF that can stretch the floor next to Ayton or it's not a good fit.
I think so. I don't know his career stats, but I would be comfortable with Green shooting 3s. But he's a great defender and rebounder. I don't think I've seen teams sag off of him or dare him to shoot really.
Then you didn’t watch the finals.
Seriously. He was left wide open for 2 weeks

Garland won't give us a starting point guard.

I get we're desperate and sick of losing, but I think that desperation is getting people to buy into "solutions" that aren't really solutions.

First, I'm surprised the Arizona Republic is actually coming close to breaking news. Second, I'm surprised at that list. If this is true, maybe they feel Monty Williams can coach the mental weakness out of Reddish and that his struggles were partially due to his core muscle injury.

If true, it also tells me they think they know who their pg next year is. Lots of talk that D-Lo will be available. He’s friends with Booker. Lots of dots to connect. Of course we’d need to clear cap space. I’d prefer a different route, but I’d withhold judgement until I saw it on the court.

Of course Gambo is saying no on D-Lo and that we’re drafting Coby White

I like DLo and the player he's become but I wouldn't be crazy about us giving him a max deal to pair with Book.

BTW, how come Hachimura isn't getting more attention? Am I missing something there?
He's not that good. I mean, he's an ok prospect but he shoots with the wrong hand, came to basketball late, and seems to lack feel for the game. He's athletic and a hard worker but I struggle to see how he will succeed in the league at current.
I cooled on Hachimura as the season progressed, but I'm starting to revisit his viability as a worthwhile option for us.

I was bother by his rebounding, but he is a well-rounded player. He has solid basketball IQ, has passing ability, and is an incredibly efficient scorer. He has fantastic footwork, can finish in the paint and above the rim, he is long, has solid handles, and plays with a certain maturity.

I think it is reasonable to be concerned if his game will translate, though. Will he be able to score against guys who are faster, stronger, and more athletic than him?

I just watched ESPN’s scouting videos for all the guys in the 4-8 range(Garland, Hunter, Culver, White, Reddish). My biggest report is that highlights make everyone look great.

Few other thoughts:

Garland - His pull up, off the dribble shooting, is the best tool amongst this group. They point out that the pg’s that made all nba this year(curry, lillard, Kyrie, kemba) all have that same elite skill. I also think his lack of passing skills is overstated.

Hunter - Would do a lot for us defensively. He can defend the 4. He needs time and space to shoot, but he’s pretty good if he gets both. Good player, but probably limited upside.

Culver - Think he’s the best playmaker of this group. Real smart player, I don’t know if he’s an all star, but he feels like a solid player that is underrated throughout his career.

White - He’s got good size, pushes the floor, very good as a spot up shooter. Inconsistent off the dribble as a shooter, but he’s capable and should continue to develop. Has some playmaking ability. Not my top choice, but he’s not the worst option.

Reddish - Can look very impressive, has all the moves. Can get any perimeter shot he wants. Bad finisher. Too risky for me. I’d let someone else make that mistake.

I still like Garland and Culver the best. No video for Clarke on ESPN, but he currently holds that next spot for me with Hunter and White pretty close.

Hunter definitely could help us, but I think it is absolutely crazy for Duane Rankin to advocate trading up for him.

Agreed..Trading down seems like a better option in this draft. I’m not sure there’s much of a gap between 4-10

I think Drew is saying he wants to get a starting PG in addition to Garland.

CAn someone talk me into Culliver. Haven’t watched enough but worried I just see a jack of all trades without any major offensive strength. Don’t we already have one of those?

I’d be just fine taking Hunter with the 6th pick, and focus on getting a solid PG in free agency.

I'm not that high on Hunter as a defensive specialist tweener forward who isn't a great shooter (67 threes in 71 games) or rebounder (5.1 RPG, yech) (the two skills that best translate from college to the NBA statistically).

I HATE the idea of Coby White. Out of control chucker who doesn't play defense. But, from what I'm hearing, the Suns are zeroing in on him as their choice at #6 if they can't trade out of the pick. Not hearing any rumblings the Suns are interested in Hunter, who looks to be gone at #6 anyway.

Im incredibly curious about whether the Suns lack of interest in Garland is purely because of who his agent is.
