Nature permitting, we play our first summer league game against the NY Knicks whom (check it out, Marty!) the Vegas oddsmakers made the favorites to win the whole thing. However, the Knicks lost their opener to the Pelicans in 3 and a half quarters after the game was stopped due to a 7.1 earthquake on Friday night. The Suns will be without their newly signed 1st rounders due to a James Jones decision based on lack of practice time. The Suns will be featuring guards Jared Harper and Jalen Lecque. Suns guard Elie Okobo is also on the roster.

“After careful consideration, they will not participate in the summer league games,” general manager James Jones said in a team release. “They have not had the adequate opportunities to practice and train with our team. We are excited to have them with us and look forward to seeing them play this upcoming season.”

I don't think it's a big deal if Cam and Jerome don't play. What's the point of throwing them out there unprepared?

Looks like new regime thinks Summer League is just a waste of time for our rookies. They consider it like G league or something!?

What is there to be prepared? They are mature enough to handle a few meaningless games. I suppose our FO doesn't want to risk any injuries.

Jared Harper is pretty good. He’s pretty small though

It's to evaluate players to see who you want to bring to camp, then it's to give players experience.

The last thing teams should worry about is giving players who are assured of being in camp minutes so the fans can see them.

I think okobo has plenty to show us. Jerome will make camp, but are we really gonna keep okobo, carter, Harper, and Lecque? That’s 4 potential 3rd string points. Okobo should be playing.

Lecque is light years from being ready so I hope he's in Prescott Valley most of the year.

I’m sure he will, but he does have a guaranteed contract for 2 years, so he’s taking a roster spot.

Okobo needs the reps.
