I will try not to make too many whiny posts when Clarke gets 25 and 10 in this game.

Brandon Clarke hasn't looked very good.

Lecque passes the eye test in terms of NBA size and athleticism. Some guys just move the right way and he seems to have that. Has looked good on defense using his body, can get into the lane at will and plays well in PnR but hasn't looked for his own offense.

These other guys Willis and Palmer are getting minutes but are kind of annoying to watch. Okobo hasn't really stood out IMO.

Lecque has all of the tools. Hopefully he has it together mentally and works his ass off.

So we're looking at a more physical Archie Goodwin for the moment. How broken is the shot? Lonzo Ball, bad? Brandon Clarke? What are we looking at?

Without seeing a ton of opportunities for him, it doesn't look like he's a fluid, natural shooter or has the skill of pulling up off the dribble for a shot. Sometimes it's just a balance/body mechanics thing. He shot a 3 from a bad angle with a defender in his face that came up short IIRC. I've seen him kick his leg out instead of going straight up and seems to be pushing the ball at the top of his shot which might be a strength thing. I don't think his shot is necessarily busted, he just needs get a more fluid shooting motion and add some strength. Whether or not he can be a shooter off the dribble remains to be seen. Some guys just aren't comfortable and never get that.

He seems fine working off the PnR and he got into the lane well but was hesitant in that FT line/midrange area in terms of going for his own shot or looking to pass. I think this has to do with being used to playing against lesser comp where he can just explode to the basket and get a dunk or layup. Seemed like when he made up his mind to get to the basket, he got there. I feel like as the game progressed he got more confident and went up strong for a throwdown in the lane during the 3rd before it was knocked away.

Biggest takeaway for me is that he looks the part. He's an elite athlete with good size and a good body already and does things you see NBA players doing. Even in SL, he stands out.

I only watched the 1st half, but Spalding looked like a legitimate NBA player. He was causing problems defensively on every trip down the court.

I agree with all of that about Lecque.

I didn't see him play at this age, but Lecque made me imagine how similar Damian Lillard looked at 19 years old. Or he could end up being another Stephon Marbury? I'd be ecstatic with either result.

It's tough to say how Lecque projects. He's about 6-4 185, lightning quick and super bouncy but again, doesn't show much in terms of offensive versatility right now. Usually if a guy's a scorer, it's a natural thing and he can put the ball in the basket. Haven't seen that from Lecque thus far. What's Russell Westbrook without the offense?

I also kept a look out for Brandon Clarke, who wasn't much of a factor in last night's game. He's obviously athletic and made some nice passes out of the paint with good awareness of where his teammates were. I still think his size will be an issue as he looked smaller standing in the lane when FTs were being shot.

Wasn't he like +24 or +23 last night, after posting similar the game before?
