Alrighty then!
I thought Ayton was pretty consistent last year. There were things I wished he did better or attempted like drive to the basket and play better defense but, what he did do he did consistently I thought.
I think Ayton was consistently complacent last year, but I'm looking forward to great things from him this year, with a combination of natural growth and Rubio.

I wish Ayton had Zion's mentality. That dude came out tonight and tried to murder everything at the rim. Ayton has Diaw-syndrome.
Ok, there are some things I wish I saw improved by Ayton and some things I am excited to see that he did improve.
Bad:
1. Still not drawing fouls or driving and creating contact. Everything is very finesse to avoid contact.
2. Not seeing him react quickly on rotations or anticipating where the threats are around him near the basket.
3. Doesn't have a second or third jump to contest shots.
4. Didn't see him attempt a 3 pt to keep the defense honest, but in his defense I didn't really see any real opportunities either.
5. Not great at catching the ball on entry passes or no looks from Ricky yet.
6. Caveat(didn't rebound well in his last couple games, imo) although he did great in the Minnesota game in limited time.
Good Improvement Seen:
1. His shot is nearly automatic at midrange and turnaround. Much improved. It looks good coming out of his hand.
2. His screens are getting better, but still not great.
3. He is attempting to protect the rim more.
4. He is doing a better job of punishing smaller players that guard him in the post on switches and is almost automatic in those times.
5. Caveat(Idk if this has improved or not, but seems to do a good job of cleaning up misses when his man goes to contest the driver).
