I don't get it. I just read what a diuretic is. What's the big deal?

A diuretic is any substance that promotes diuresis, the increased production of urine. This includes forced diuresis. There are several categories of diuretics. All diuretics increase the excretion of water from bodies, although each class does so in a distinct way.

It’s a way to cut weight faster (seems dumb) and also to dilute your urine to hide other substances. Just my guess.

Oops. Welp, if this isn't rescinded, we're really short handed at Center. Kaminsky is better than Saric by appearances.

But, this is going to severely cut into our win total.

There's no way around this. It just sucks. Suspended starting tomorrow. Hopefully we can maintain enough until we get him back. It's early in the season but our schedule is brutal. Baynes and Frank gotta step up.

Arbitrator: The evidence indicates that this was an unknowing, accidental ingestion of a diuretic and that Ayton gained no advantage by it. This is a poorly thought-out zero-tolerance policy that makes no allowances for circumstances. Indication from the league and union are that the rule is likely to be changed so that other players are not victimized the same way in the future. If the suspension stands, Ayton will likely be the only player ever to receive such a ridiculous suspension for such an innocuous substance. It would be a travesty of justice. On the other hand, Robert Sarver is an asshole. The suspension stands.

It's really strange that Ayton was hit with a 25-game suspension when the policy clearly calls for a 10-game suspension for a first-time offense. What is going on there?
