Game Day: Suns (3-2) @ Grizzlies (1-3), Sat 11/2/19

Post by Superbone »

Time: 5:00 pm AZ (5:00 pm PT/8:00 pm ET)
Place: FedExForum, Memphis, TN
TV: FSAZ/NBALP

The new look Suns are 3-2 coming into this game. That is better than most predicted. This is one we had penciled in for a win. I'm sure the Suns won't take this game lightly. Let's pad that win total.

Go Suns!!!

Serious chance to go 4-2 this time. Booker should go for 40

Trap game. I had this marked as a letdown L before the season started. Morant, JJJ, and JV but not much else. Phx-Suns.net fave Brandon Clarke may not play due to back spasms and JJ won't play unless there's a GLeague game somewhere.

Should be 6-0 after tonight.

Morant’s been good (17/3.5/5), Brandon Clarke solid (10/5/1), JJJ maybe a little slower out of the blocks than expected (15/6.5/1) but nothing to worry about I don’t think.

I love this core and they will be fun to watch the next few years.

D’anthony Melton getting very little burn.

Dillon Brooks has been playing well too.

I'm looking forward to watching Morant. I wish we had gotten that #2 pick so we could have drafted him. I also have a bit of Coby White FOMO, though he's averaging just 38.9 FG% and 2.3 assists, so I'm happy with Rubio.

Better shooting percentage than Ricky right now. Rubio is going to give us about 12 points every night. That’s been his average over the last 7 or 8 years. I knew his assists would go up so I’m happy to see they are at almost 9 per game but that should be enough to finish top 5 in the league these days. Somehow LBJ is averaging 11 assists per game. Brogdon is at 10 per as well. Glad to see Ricky’s rebounding numbers are back. Playing in Utah really effected them but if he finishes at almost 7 per game that’d be a career high by a full board per. I’d probably rather have Morant. Especially since Rubio costs so much but I’m happy with what he’s given us so far. His defense in particular has been a welcome sight.
Go Suns!

Wouldn't that have been something! And we were so close to pulling it off!

Melton, Knight, Anderson, Jackson, and Bender basically haven't played this year. (0-10 minutes total playing time)

Chriss has seen some playing time, but hasn't been particularly efficient. Holmes has seen consistent playing time, but hasn't been as efficient as last year. TJ Warren has seen starter minutes, but his efficiency is way down from last year.

Troy Daniels has been getting 15 mpg as a back up SG. His PER is an awful 7.65.

Jamal Crawford is out of the league.

All true, except Holmes...he’s been great for Sacramento and recently moved into the starting lineup. He’s averaging more points/rebounds and shooting a higher percentage from the field.

Where’d Bender go? He’s not even listed in the box scores..

Holmes was great and his mom was Chief of Police. I wish we would have kept him. I love Baynes though so it worked out ok.

It’s looking that way. JJones hitting it out the park! Between TJ, JJ, Bender, Culver (at 6) I thought there’s no way he’ll win all of them but so far pretty damn good.

You’re thinking of Alan Williams. His mom is the Phoenix chief of police. Holmes’ mom was a big fan presence on twitter.

God, what a murderer's row of bad players who used to get meaningful minutes on this team. I looked Bender irrationally, but the rest can be left. Blech. #McDoOUT

Saric looks like some fan who won a contest to start for the Suns for a game. Other than being 6'10" or whatever, that is.

When we picked Ayton last draft, there was some debate about whether Jaren Jackson Jr or Marvin Bagley would be better. Bagley and Jackson are both nice players, but I like Ayton much better than either of them. Ayton's much more of a true big man, and both of the others seem more like PFs to me. They're good, but I am very content with Ayton vs either of them.
