Time: 6:00 pm AZ (5:00 pm PT/8:00 pm ET)
Place: Talking Stick Resort Arena, Phoenix, AZ
TV: FSAZ, NBALP

Kyrie Irving and company are flying into town to battle our Phoenix Suns. Irving has been on a tear so we're going to need to see some concentrated defense in this one. Suns need to make up for their last stinker.

Go Suns!!!

I am enjoying the fact that Kyrie is going all hero-ball but that it isn't leading to wins for the Nets. That's exactly what I thought would happen. I think we can beat this team.

I'm hyped to see how we respond to our loss to the Heat. I expect to see the swarming defense back at 100%.

I’d like to see Monty give Elie a shot at the backup PG role. Carter has no confidence on O and if he’s not hitting his open 3s he’s pretty useless on that side of the ball.

Ty’s coming back soon, so this may be Elie’s last opportunity to get some quality run.

Suns looking sharp on both ends to start, Baynes is still stroking it from 3.

Jarrett Allen has 3 offensive fouls in the first quarter. Atkinson picks up a technical foul and I don't blame him at all.

I’ve spent years learning what it’s like to be on the other side of games like this, I almost feel guilty for enjoying it.

I guess this is an acceptable start coming out after losing that last game:P

Early 20 point lead knocked down to 7 at the end of the first. Kaminsky is really bad. The drop off from Baynes to him is pretty gross.

2nd unit let the Nets get off a 10-0 run to end the qtr so the lead has been cut down. We need Rubio, Booker or Oubre out there with the bench guys I think. No consistent offense if guys aren't hitting shots. Also, Carter hasn't seen any minutes as Tyler Johnson is running point.

You need a lot more from your bench when the starters hand them a 20-point lead.

Kaminsky just hasn't been getting it done. Bridges needs to find a way to make an impact of the game.

I went to the bathroom and when I came back the lead was basically gone. #fixthebench

Would Oubre off the bench help at all?
For me you can’t always run the same offense for your bench as your starters. It’s going to be less talented so I think more set plays for the johnsons May help

It’s an interesting question but Oubre seemed to play his best when starting, but we might not have a choice if the bench keeps giving up leads. It’s not something I would try until Ayton comes back.

Rubio almost with a double double in the 1st

How long have been that we think "this one should be easy?"

It looked like we were trying that. Monty seems to run a few plays to get Cam some 3s when he first gets in the game. Tyler has been on the ball and started off strong. He's got some dribble drive ability which we need with the reserves. Otherwise, we're just too reliant on jumpers with Bridges, Cam and Frank. We've seen Frank's struggles, he just needs see one go in.

I keep needing to remind myself that we're missing Ayton and would normally have Baynes as our first big off the bench. We're just stretched and asking both guys to do more than usual. Baynes is outperforming in his role, Frank is in a bad shooting slump. We really get into trouble when Baynes has to sit with fouls.

No Jevon Carter. 9 man rotation with Tyler Johnson on the ball.

I felt like during the Nets' run, Monty didn't call TOs. He let the team play thru it a bit longer but they eventually gave up the lead. Usually he's right on it with TOs to kill momentum, but I thought he was letting them play thru.

Would love to see what Sarics defensive #s are. He just always seems to be in the right place getting a steal or a hand on the ball and defends well.

I don't know if it's by design or if we're still trying to find the balance, but there are possessions when we need Book to just take and hit the shot. Too often we overpass for a 3pt attempt when Book has or can get a better shot.
