Hard not to feel down about the state of the franchise right now. We transitioned from asset collection to stocking up on "winners," yet we were still passed by two teams (MEM, NO) who are still very much in rebuilding mode.

This isn’t the year we will make the jump. Next year on the other hand...

Look at the 76ers path.

I’m not talking jumping. I mean our wins.

We’ve been one year away for years.

I get it. But I'm also really positive about this guy:

His jumper has really developed nicely. If he keeps working, he can be an impact rookie next year.

He reminds me of the guy who destroyed us last night: Trae Young.

Part of me almost wishes we could just get to the offseason already. This season has messed with my emotions so much already. Haha.
We’re better than last year but this year is so much harder. I find myself much much more emotionally invested because they have the talent to be at least a .500 team. I was content to lose the last few years with the crap rosters to get picks so the losses didn’t bother me much.

I'm in the opposite boat. I was mad in the offseason because I didn't think we were building a very good team. I'm not mad at the players or coaching staff because they are competing and gutting out wins where they can and generally playing at or above my expectations for them. Oubre, Cam, and Okobo have been better than I expected. Ayton and Saric have been worse.

Last season was the absolute worst because the team just didn't have any pride at all. Igor never coached the team and the players didn't even care enough to take things into their own hands. We lost every night on a 30-6 run during one 4 minute stretch whenever the other team decided to put us away.

I knew after seeing the hit to his head that they shouldn't continue letting him play, and yet they kept him in the whole game. They need to do a better job of testing players right away like the NFL does. It is extremely dangerous to keep playing after a head injury.

Sounds like a pretty good reason for Oubre to have such a terrible game since the foul occurred about midway through the first quarter.

Perhaps some of the folks calling Oubre "trash" are willing to reconsider their assessment given that he had a possible concussion and was doing his best to try to play through it despite the injury?

Did he play like trash?

Yes or no? It’s a simple question.

That’s an explanation for it, but yes he played like hot garbage on both ends and we may know why now.

The board has taken on a bit of a nasty tone since our season has entered its nose-dive. Sauce, I hope that if you are ever seriously injured that the folks taking care of you grant you more sympathy and compassion than you seem to be extending to Kelly Oubre.

So let's say our wins jump from 30 this season to 35 next. What does that get us?

If the goal is the playoffs, we have to pass X number of teams to get there. If those teams are progressing at a faster rate than us and have better young cores than us, it becomes harder to pass them. Meaning, we could steadily improve our level of play for 5 straight years and still not crack the 10 seed.

You don’t think he played poorly?

God. You’re so sensitive. Don’t take life so seriously dude. The moral high horse isn’t a good look.

He sucked. If he was concussed, that may explain why. But it doesn’t change the fact that he sucked.

Hope the weathers not too cold up on your moral high horse buddy.

Sauce, I find your message disrespectful. This site is not meant to be a free-for-all like Reddit or RealGM boards; rather, it's a place for a group of mostly old friends to talk about the Suns team they've been supporting for many years. I wish we could talk about these things in a friendly and mutually respectful way.

Yes.

Unless they go full on tank mode, I still think they will make a run. But will it be too little too late?

This makes no sense to me. It doesn't matter what the other teams are doing, as long as we keep improving. Winning somewhere between 40 and 50 games is always enough to get to the playoffs. There are always teams falling out of the top 8 as well (Golden State is a great example this year).

Too little too late for what? To make the playoffs? Definitely. To win Bone’s bet? Maybe.
