It was a good sign when Doncic and Carlisle were kvetching incessantly to the refs early in the game.
You got the feeling the Mavs were out of synch and were trying any means possible to slow the Suns, who came out of the blocks focused.
Doncic had a rather unremarkable 21 points and seemed laboring much of the time.
Window is open again ... blue skies ahead?

It would really be criminal if Booker wasn't named an All Star.
Doncic, Harden, Booker, Lillard, and Westbrook. Seems pretty obvious.
You’re missing Mitchell. Booker is better, but I think Mitchell will get in. Jazz have been very good. CP3 is also having quite a season and the Thunder look pretty good.

I think Booker will make it, but there is a real possibility he doesn’t. Paul George and KAT probably didn’t play enough games, but they could sneak in. Ingram has also had quite the season and could make it. It’s gonna be tight.

I really love this video and love seeing it when the Suns win, but...

Can someone explain why the Gorilla and Booker are holding sunscreen? Isn't sunscreen to the Suns like kryptonite is to Superman? Why is Devin holding kryptonite?

I don't think Westbrook is obvious. I mean, he will be the pick, but if it was up to me I might pick Mitchell.

20/4/3 on 7/9 shooting for Booker in the 3rd. What a game.

Ayton was fantastic in this game. He dominated the paint despite not rebounding well. This is what being a difference maker is. It isn't his points or rebounds, but forcing himself upon the other team.

And Book was so bad in the first half. You could tell he was trying all of the Kobe-like move with the fade-aways and long twos, but they just weren't going in. You knew it was bad when he missed two FTs early. Glad he got going later in the game. Some of those moves he had were straight up legendary.

I think I’m starting to have a real spider sense when it comes to the Suns. I read about the first couple possessions in this thread and that was it before leaving work and watching the game when I got home. In between that time I just had this sense that we won this one. We had the great start but then the Mavs pulled within 5 at halftime. But, wow, that third quarter!

Now they will get all full of themselves and lay an egg in the next one.

I feel like we've been really good coming out of the half this season. Always a good sign of things.

I think this team is consistently inconsistent. They had a bad game last time, so they were due for a good game.

So while this win is encouraging, the team has really struggled to string together several of these types of games in a row.

Agreed. It's a young team listening to the coach. And the coach knows what he's doing.

I like how Ayton having 9 rebounds is "not rebounding well."

How many Suns centers have averaged 9 rebounds for a season?

He did have more rebounds than any player on the court last night, Suns or Mavs.

31/9/1/2/1, +29 in 29 minutes. 13-15 shooting.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

I'm continually impressed by the lateral quickness and ability to stay in front of guards by Ayton.

He's been legitimately good on D overall this season. Obviously there are still lapses, but it's night and day from last season.

Deandre Ayton asked a reporter if she needed to know how to spell "DOMINAYTON."
I kinda wish he’d just shut up and play.

Let your game do the talking. If you’re so tickled by “DOMINAYTON” that you can’t bear the idea of it not getting out there, have one of your teammates say it to a reporter instead of doing it yourself.

Right? I like the canned, boring responses athletes give. No need to be a youthful 21 year old with a personality.
