People were saying ankle, but it looked like a broken foot to me.
Agree but we shall see. Either way I’m guessing he’s done for the season.

After parting with Nelson this offseason, the Suns took the final step away from his tenure and toward the future Friday, announcing the hire of a new medicine and performance team.

Brady Howe was announced as the Senior Director of Player Health and Performance. He is a former member of the Atlanta Hawks training staff and the director of athletic performance for the Utah Jazz’s G League affiliates.

Howe is among nine members the Suns announced Friday.

David Crewe, who spent last year as the head athletic trainer for the Memphis Grizzlies and spent eight with the Minnesota Timberwolves, was named the Director of Medical Services and Head Athletic Trainer.

Daniel Bove, who was the Suns’ director of performance last year, retained his position.

The other members of the staff are Director of Rehabilitation Adam Loiacono, Head Strength and Conditioning Coach Cory Schlesinger, Assistant Athletic Trainer Frank Adams, Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach Jeff Dolan, Sport Scientist/Assistant Strength Coach Kohei Tamagawa and Performance Therapist Amy Atmore.

He put weight on it, though. Could he do that on a broken foot?

2-18? Come on, we’re not that bad
Bulls, Cavs, Wizards, TWolves 2x. Are the only “bad” teams. Rest of the teams are playoffs or close to playoffs teams. Suns have a rough schedule here on out.

If Ayton is out for some time this isn’t an unrealistic ending to such a storybook year

We’ll see, I’d guess we win 6 or 7

Really about pain tolerance. Less likely to be able to bear weight with either a broken foot or ankle. But the way his foot twisted and where he was grabbing seemed like his foot, but it's just us guessing. I'm sure the Suns will be totally transparent about it tomorrow though.

Turned it off at the start of the 3rd when the Raps took the lead. Got tired of watching Book try to take over the game by dribbling around for 18 seconds and turning it over.

DA was on crutches by the end of the night? Great. Monty said it wasn't the type of game for Baynes as the Raps were playing smaller and quicker without Ibaka and Gasol but I'm calling BS. Maybe he'll be forced into action if DA is out but I get the feeling the Suns and Baynes have agreed to limit his minutes the rest of the way. I think he asked for a trade and sat out with the injury prior to All Star, Suns couldn't get what they wanted in terms of picks or talent, and now they're restricting his minutes without sitting him altogether.

I feel like the Aaron Nelson loss has been exaggerated. What could he have done to prevent OG from falling into Ayton’s ankle? How could he have prevented Kelly’s meniscus injury?

I feel like the value comes during the recovery process and helping older guys survive the season. We had the best training staff. 10 years ago. We’ve dealt with our fair share of injuries the past few years.

I agree it is a bit exaggerated. But it is another sign that we don't invest for the future. You don't plant a tree today for shade this afternoon. And it seems like we do a lot of that type of planning.

Overall, the team played much better than the last couple stinkers. The Raptors are just much more physical and battle tested.

Weren't they missing half their team?

I don't know about half of them but it didn't matter. What I said above stands on its own. Also, Ayton hasn't gotten to the stage where he can dominate a smallish team. An Embiid for example would have feasted.

Missing were Gasol, Ibaka, and Van Vleet. So I mean yeah, I'd hope they play better. The Raptors essentially played 6 guys one being Patrick McCaw.

Well the warriors were missing their whole team and we still lost to them.

Had we played like we did yesterday, we would have beat both the Pistons and Warriors.

Heh. Sorry about your bet. My stock portfolio was just over 220k lower at the start or March than it was at the start of February, so I may be a little salty.

Yeah... I didn't see anything, so I haven't lost anything yet. And I am quite a ways out from retirement, so I don't think I am going to switch to bonds yet either.
