But since you don't have to be on any game, your bet of Boston could be for the 18th against BRK instead of the Philly game. I am good saying that you either have to only bet on today's games but I don't think that was one of the (written or unwritten) rules.

Maybe Cap can clarify that. I'm betting on one day at a time. But I did put the date in my bet.

First of all, if somebody posts a bet without specifying a date, that’s presumed shorthand for “today.”

As for betting on future games when you don’t know what your bankroll will be, there are a couple of ways to handle it.

One is that we treat it like multiple games on the same day: the sum of outstanding bets cannot exceed your stake. So if you have $1000 and bet $500 on today’s game, you can’t bet more than $500 on tomorrow’s game.

Another is that you express future dates’ bets as percentages of your stake. E.g., “I have $1000 and bet $500 on today’s game and 50% of tomorrow’s stake on tomorrow’s game.” Tomorrow’s bet will turn into a $750 bet or $250 bet depending on how today works out.

Since we’re all doing our own bookkeeping, I’m inclined to allow flexibility. As long as nobody complains that you’re doing something ill-defined or unfair, it’s all good.
