What do we think of Chris Paul?
Re: What do we think of Chris Paul?
I voted 3, but I'm still open to the idea that he's learning his way around our system and that it'll be better a few months from now. I don't like his poor 3-point shooting, I don't like the stickiness of the ball, and I don't like the dribble-juke-dribble stuff he tries to do. But I like his passing a lot, I like his midrange shooting, and I like how he pushes Ayton to be better. We need that.

I voted 3 too. If this was school his quarter report card is a B-. He has three more quarters to bring his grades up. We want to get into Yale, not Scottsdale Community College.

I voted 3 but I still have faith in Paul to figure it out and for the team to improve.

He has had a game here and there where he got pissed off and played more aggressively. I don’t remember him ever putting two good games together let alone four and none of them were as good as any of those in this four fame stretch imo.specialsauce wrote: ↑Sat Jan 30, 2021 11:04 amHe has had stretches his first two years where he would be motivated and elite for a 3-4 game stretch only to regress right back and get lazy. I don’t think this has anything to do with Chris Paul. IMO the number of Ayton easy buckets and gimme dunks are down this year, and that has directly to do with CP3.Nodack wrote: ↑Sat Jan 30, 2021 10:44 amMy jury is still out on Paul. My biggest concern this season was Ayton and whether he stops being a pussy around the rim. Aside from the last game, he had just played 4 games in a row where he was attacking the rim and drawing fouls. He was playing like the Ayton most of us wanted him to become and I think a lot of that had to do with Paul.

Those stats don’t show points at the basket versus mid range shots he was fond of. Do you guys really think he was playing just as aggressive in those four games as the four this year?

I do. He has always had good stretches and bad.

Re: What do we think of Chris Paul?
I think it's different this year. I'm not as frustrated from noticing him watching plays and just standing around. He's still not a "force" on offense, but there's more of a concerted effort on both ends.

I do. He was specifically talking about how he needed to be a “monster in the paint, 80% inside 20% outside” around that time.

I think we’re just hoping this is different, but he has absolutely shown us stretches like this.

Even the let's bash Chris Paul thread has turned into an Ayton thread...!

Told you guys to give CP3 18 games.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton
