Devin looked a lot more focused out there tonight. I like aggressive Booker. Need to start getting his offense going more. Great shot to win it. Classic Booker

I liked 17 rebounds by Ayton, but almost everything else was subpar. Too many mental mistakes and tepidness under the rim.
For sure. Surprised at the 17. I went to look at his turnovers and was shocked at only 2. He literally lost the ball at least 7 times. 😂😂
Yeah, it is the scoring table's call on some of those plays whether to blame the passer or the receiver. Imagine if football was like that?
Trendon Watford. Please and thank you.

Then Tom Brady and Bill Belichick would have zero rings and my 49ers would not have choked their last two Super Bowls away😂😭😭😭

Booker looked more focused and engaged than the last 4 games, for sure. Pretty non existent until tonight.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

Such a great win. And I love OKCCP3 giving credit to the coaching staff for drawing up the winning play.

Just finished...what a game from CP3! Ugly game in the first half for both sides. Paul was the one bright spot for us. Booker showed up in the 2nd half to help bring it home.

Ayton looked decent to start. He was great on the boards. His defense wasn’t great...as others mentioned, he just left the paint 4 or 5 times when his teammate was clearly expecting help. Though he did do well a few times switching onto Luka down the stretch...that one foul he got defending Luka at the end was one of the weakest I’ve seen. What Luka did to deserve the Jordan whistle is beyond me.

Mikal/Cam/Crowder didn’t show up offensively...Bridges did get aggressive at times, but was a little careless with the ball and his shot wasn’t falling. I really think we should flip Crowder and Cam back. Cam hasn’t looked great since entering the starting lineup. Crowder hasn’t looked great off the bench.

Frank is doing alright out there. He’s doing a decent job filling in for Saric...and I’ve even seen him hit a couple 3’s...I had sworn before that he never makes them, haha.

Gallo hit a few big shots, had a rough game defensively though.

3-0 against Dallas this year...for some reason we have their number. Ayton is 8-1 against Luka in his career. Ayton - 1?

Pels up next on Wednesday.

The NBATV feed is some guy and Grant Hill. They're fine.
Spero Dedes deserves more credit than that.

Paul kept them in it, and Booker got hot when they needed him to ...
First game of the year we can say our two best players played like our two best players.
thats not what everyone here was saying the first 47.5 minutes of the game.

really good recap. my only quibble is that you didn't mention how shitty book was playing on defense tonight. it shouldn't have been close if he just would have given some resistance to his guy. so glad he redeemed himself there.

WTF is Ayton doing trying to dribble the ball 8" from the ground?
Maybe he’s been watching video of Curly Neal before games.

The Mavs have a lot more energy in this half. It's almost like they're tired of losing.
Too bad, so sad.

And so deflating for the Mavs.

The "Luka for MVP" predictions this preseason were way premature.

He's a great offensive player, but he dominates the ball, is a spotty outside shooter and isn't any help on the defensive end. Put that together with Dallas not being very good and he's not in the MVP race.
Totally agreed. He is really good with the ball on his hands, but not much else off the ball, and he really does not looks so “generational” without the referees bailong hin out of his shaky jumper and offensive fouling charging to the rim. Paired with Booker as our backcourt would be extremely frustrating on the defensive end.

Last year he looked unstopable, maybe he will round up to that form again, but right now he looks like a surefire All Star, but no MVP level. Of course, Ayton does not even looks like an All Star (yet, hopefully), so he still have a lot of ground to make up for.
