EARLY START!!! Game Day: 76ers (18-8) @ Suns (15-9), Sat 2/13/21

Post by Superbone »

Time: 1:00 pm AZ (12:00 am PT/3:00 pm ET)
Place: Phoenix Suns Arena, Phoenix, AZ
TV: FSAZ, NBATV

The 76ers are coming off a loss to the Blazers on Thursday. The Suns beat the Bucks on Wednesday. This will be another good test for Ayton against premier big man, Joel Embiid. And it's coming your way NEXT...On NBATV!

Go Suns!!!

We have an 11 pm start here so I will watch my beloved team relaxed and sober. I will not predict a defeat in such good circumstances for me :) just fight till the end and give it to Book -who by the way loves to torch the Sixers- for a buzzer beater.
Go Suns!!!

I almost missed that it was such an early start. (Thanks for making that really clear in the thread title.) I realized that I can also just add a full schedule of all the Suns games to my Google Calendar. Here's how:

The Sixers are really good. They're currently #1 in the East, though we just beat the #2 Bucks the other day. Embiid is having another great season, averaging 23, 12, and 3. Ben Simmons is averaging 13, 9.9, and 7. Not a huge fan of Tobias Harris, but he's averaging 19, 8, and 3. The big thing to me is that they've added some shooting; that always seemed like a weakness to me before. They now have Seth Curry and Danny Green on the roster among others. They also have a young fella named Tyrese Maxey that they're really high on. Reportedly they could have traded Simmons for Harden but the deal fell through because the Sixers wouldn't include Maxey in the deal; that's how much they like the kid.

I'm really curious to see how we try to stop Embiid. Ayton is a capable defender but is giving up a lot of size. Will they double? Will we see some minutes for Damian Jones due to his size and strength? Or are we just in for a night of tons of fouls?

Be interesting to see what the rotation is today. Does Frank still get minutes? Does Moore?

I would personally ease in all three guys and give them more of a run out against ORL tomorrow.

Milton is Out, he's one of the key guys off their bench although he been inconsistent this year

No prob with Frank staying rotation, he absolutely earned it. Not sure how he matches up as a starter today tho

Europe in the house! Let‘s go Suns. Key Matchups are Embiid vs Ayton and whoever guards Simmons vs Simmons. Who do you think will guard Simmons?

Bridges I’d guess...Frank starting is dissapointing...him guarding Tobias is not a good thing.

Man oh Man , think this really a big test for the fellas

I personally believe Sixers are more dangerous than the Bucks. You know everything is going through Giannis and you have to try stop him from getting in the paint with his ridiculous size and athleticism, well Simmons does similar things. Only difference is that then you just give Embiid in the post if you slow down their fast break so really interested to see how things go today.

Simmons did a real good job against Dame and one of Book's advantage is usually his strength and size against his defender so he gonna really need to go in his bag today. Might have to be a CP3 day attacking Seth but our Bench surely should outscore theirs unless I forgetting some of their guys.

Either way, don't know how many of you guys around for the early start but should be a good one 8-)

Let's get another statement win !!

7am here in Sydney, at tip off Embiid standing next to Ayton makes him look small. Wow.

Turms out its Frank. Refs are awful. What does Book have to do to get a call.

Frank shouldn’t be playing the 4 in this game, hope we make the change at this timeout break.

Frank shouldn't be out there right now. He's fine on defense but a huge liability on offense demonstrated in his early airball and inability to generate a good shot for himself or anyone when defended by Curry in the post.
