I think he has improved over last year. I think he has had good stretches and some not so good stretches. He drives us mad sometimes doing dumb things. He may never become the to beast we wanted but, he isn’t sucking overall either. He does intimidate people in the paint when he is engaged. He can shoot the ball. Where he ends up isn’t written in any history books yet. As far as I am concerned I am just along for the ride and am enjoying the team.

Last night felt like a janky game. Everything just kind of felt off and out of rhythm, even when we had the lead. The offense wasn't super smooth, we were throwing it into the post more than ever. It was working for a while, but then we just went half a step off. Their defense tightened up a bit and we didn't really have an answer for Lamelo. I thought Saric could've seen more time in the 2nd half because Ayton wasn't doing much on either end. Book was mentally taken out of the game by the fouls and the tech. Just a weird one.

You dont fix the things Ayton is missing, he just doesnt have the mindset. He never will, his hand dropping, his soft layins, its all instinctual, you dont change that. Shaq wanted to rip the rim down every time he dunked it, Ayton wants to have a nice conversation and ask how the rims mom is doing everytime he goes up.

I wish. That would mean we haven't had it since before Christmas... We have it every 3 weeks or so.

I don't blame Ayton for this loss. He isn't great at guarding PGs after P&R switches, so it's on our coach and staff to recognize that and figure out a better strategy. Put him in a position to succeed.

That last possession was probably a foul, but the guys didn't play their best for most of the game before that. We should have been ahead and not dependent on a desperation 3 to tie it at the end.

No 'probably' about it based on the pictures I have seen. But you are right in that we blew the game and it shouldn't have been close. We didn't play hard.

That's because every once in awhile, he has a couple of games where he does what we expect from a top pick, people start to buy into the thinking maybe he's gonna nba get it, but then he reverts to the norm. Never wanted his lame ass. This just further solidifies this.

Deandre Ayton is the huge kid on the tee-ball team that would rather chase butterflies in the OF than pay attention.

I'm conflicted on this

I realized a little while now that Monty sticks to this rotation. CP3 out around the 6min mark of the quarter and Book plays down to the last min or the full quarter.
CP3 comes back end of 1st, start of 2nd to play with usually Dario, Jae/Cam and Moore. Book usually sits like 7-8mins straight to the last few mins of the Half and I have been saying it's good that he's not having to play heavy minutes.

It's definitely a trend tho that he cooks in that first quarter and then in the 2nd, seems to only take a couple shots and I don't know if the offense is flowing different when he returns or what.

Shel says "janky", Monty says "goofing around" - I completely agree. I kept waiting for the Suns to lock in on defense, and it just didn't happen.

The team had an off night. It's not the end of the world. It sounds like they are addressing it, and we will see how they respond

I'mm looking for the Suns to avoid losing streaks and trading wins and loses. Always 2 or more wins in a row and never 2 or more losses.

I think Klein's been a proponent of starting Jae over Frank and thinks the Frank lineup is kind of fool's gold but we're sticking with it because of the Ws. That's how I understood the reference. But there are a few cracks that the wins have been covering up. Could be we need to replace Frank in the starting lineup. Could be Monty's rotations, tho I think they're mainly fine. Could be DA's lackluster play in recent games, covered up by the perimeter offense that took the attention away from him.

Starting Frank is not the reason we lost. We lost because we kept letting their guards go off and didn't bother to do much about it. That included Monk and Ball. Book didn't guard either well. Neither did Ayton when he switched out. Paul was meh. We lost the game in the 2nd quarter when we were a -15 or so to finish the half.

Ya, Frank didn’t really have anything to do with it, but I still don’t like him starting. He’s just not one of our top 8 guys. Crowder needs to get those minutes.

Crowder played 27 minutes. I don't think we want him to be a 30 mpg guy--he never has been. Frank got under 12 minutes. That feels about right.

And I think on any given night, who is in or out of our top 8 changes quite a bit. Our top 3 is pretty set, but after that it is pretty fluid.

They lost a game. No need to freak out. Sometimes the other team plays better. Next...

Oh my badd again for lack of clarity

My focus wasn't on Klein tweet but the reply from the lesser known person. I was trying to highlight Monty sub pattern with Book and I think during the game the caption came up that Book has scored 15+ pts in the 1st quarter in 4 of the last 5 games or maybe it was 6 games. Either way though, point is he then usually does nothing much in the 2nd quarter so I'm wondering if we stop running certain sets or is his rhythm just thrown off.

Most these games been wins obviously and that unit with CP3 and Dario have been doing well. I feel like when he comes back in the offense is running a little different and he just goes with the flow and doesn't look to try set the tone again, re-establish himself but yea I not sure why the big discrepancy

I thought someone, maybe Monty, said Book preferred playing the entire 1st qtr?
