I think we may lose a couple of these final games as we lock up the 2 seed and Monty starts resting guys for the playoffs. We shall see.

I haven't looked at the full schedule for other teams, but I think there is still a decent chance the Lakers make it to the 6th seed to get the Clippers and the Blazers slip into 7 for the play-ins with Curry and Memphis/Spurs. We are basically locked into #2 now.

Ya, Portland needs to lose 2 and LA needs to win out. Portland goes Houston, Utah, Phoenix, Denver. LA goes, New York, Houston, Indiana, New Orleans.

It's imperative that we win the Blazers game.

Utah Jazz remaining schedule:

@Warriors
Blazers
@Thunder
@Kings

If the Warriors beat the Jazz tonight, the Suns beat the Warriors tomorrow, the Blazers beat the Jazz on Wednesday, and the Suns beat the Blazers on Thursday, we will be #1 again. We have the advantage of playing those teams on their second night of a back-to-back, after they play Utah.

That Jazz/Blazers game is a win-win for us. If Portland wins, we control our destiny for the 1 seed again. If Utah wins, we can make it possible for the Lakers to catch Portland if they win out.

Boy, a Clippers-Lakers first round series would be something.

Ya... makes me think the Lakers won’t be so concerned about getting the 6 seed. Is avoiding the play-in worth it if your reward is the clippers?

Won't the Lakers just rest their guys and stay at the 7 seed to play us? Or do you think they want to avoid the play-in tournament?

Hard to say, but their coach said they’d like to avoid the play-in. Still a chance Denver is 3rd anyways.

Just our luck. A lot has to go just right to avoid the Lakers in the 1st round. Oh, well. We can't worry about what we have no control over. Winning a championship isn't going to be easy on any path. Sure, it would suck to get knocked out in the first round but then if we are, we weren't good enough anyway. We'd have to lick our wounds and figure out how to be a better team next year. Our lack of bigs depth seems pretty obvious.

On the other hand, maybe we figure it out and beat a fully healthy Lakers anyway. If a team is to take out the Lakers, it's probably easier to do it earlier than later.

In hindsight, we might have been better off resting guys like the rest of the league. Might even have ended up with a more favorable first round matchup.

Wait, holy guacamole, do we really have a TRIPLE-header this Thu-Fri-Sat? Blazers-Spurs-Spurs three nights in a row??

No. Thursday at home and then Sat-Sun in San Antonio.

Weird, my Google Calendar is linked to the official Suns season schedule from their web site. They must have entered it wrong.
