Who are those young kids on the left? The Sager kids? That young beauty in the middle is Kobe's daughter, Natalia. About time for Jerry, huh?
Wormwood/Superbone 2019/2020 season bet: Suns win < 30 games, Wormwood wins, else 'Bone wins. 1 month avatar shame starting July 1st of winner's choosing. ACCOMPLISHED! 34 wins in a shortened season! Like it mattered. We rarely see Wormwood anyway!

Jerry was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2004.

He's in the picture because he's the Chairman of the Basketball Hall of Fame (since 2009).

OK, good. Thanks for the info. I was a little confused as I thought he was already in.

If we win a championship, would Sarver give Jerry a ring?

It took me a while to figure out what Ayton was wearing when they showed him on the bench

Except for the tacky Frye's logo, I'd take these jerseys over the Valley jerseys any day.

Yea the turnover on the spin happens to the best of them when you trying to push the ball and defender steps in quickly. If the ref doesn't call a block for defender not giving the player enough room to turn it's usually a charge or travel.
Was desperate by Melo because he didn't wanna run back but it worked.
wow, I couldn't disagree more. I thought Melo made a great play, nothing desperate about it. Booker just couldn't adjust quickly enough. And the fact that he argued the call was embarrassing.

I was just going thru that thread and starting to digest it. I think we rate Book accordingly and know he can get better but we also need our role players to come thru - same as most any other star. I think he's got the mentality, competitiveness and shotmaking ability to be a #1. We've seen it so far.

I was actually looking at CJ McCollum's stats last night and he and Book are almost the same - CJ shoots better from 3. So if you put CJ on this team in the backcourt with CP, are we better?
They're essentially the same player. I don't think it moves the needle much in either direction.
I disagree. I think Booker is the better player, and I think McCollum benefits from not being "the guy" for his team. The Suns would be worse with McCollum.

I don’t think it’s much that Booker needs. Playing more off ball, you’d expect higher efficiency, but he’s actually regressed a bit there.
I actually think Booker would be better with a less ball dominant point guard.

The easiest way for him to get his efficiency back up would be to turn into the 3pt shooter everyone thinks he is. At this point, he’s a below average shooter from 3.
Yeah, this season I finally began to understand that, which was quite the revelation for me. I don't want Booker to sacrifice his midrange game, nor do I want him to lose his aggressive in attacking the rim, which I think he has improved upon this season. But man, if he can get up to 38-40% shooting from 3 on the same (or more!) attempts, that would be huge.

Not worried about this dude. He's a stud:

We seem to always define who he is a player based on his performance over just a stretch of games. Same thing happened last year.

Overall, he took a step forward this year. Still in the role player tier of players, but getting closer to being an elite role player.

We'll have to agree to disagree on this being a better jersey than the Valley jerseys minus the Frye's logo but yeah, that logo makes it looks like these are freebie giveaway jerseys from the grocery store.

Huge congrats to Cotton Fitzsimmons for entering the Hall of Fame in 2021. Just wish he was here to see it. Glad his wife can experience it.

I agree with this. I think Booker is a much more useful player than McCollum. Neither are the most athletically gifted players, but Booker has been this team's designated scorer for the past four seasons or so, every team knows it, and he still manages to hit his share of them, while McCollum can and does defer to Dame in those situations for the most part. Booker doesn't rise over the defender, nor does he have a particularly tight handle, but he is very gifted at making those heavily defended shots. Also, he's 6'6, that by default makes him more useful than McCollum at 6'2... Someone was just posting about us putting CP3/Payne/Booker lineups out there... won't be possible if it was McCollum.

What I am curious about is which team gets better if Booker were swapped for Lavine. Last year, I'd have wanted Booker hands down. This year, I have a bit more doubt. I think Booker is the far better play maker but given that we do have CP3 now, maybe Lavine's ability to shoot the 3 off the dribble and put real pressure on the rim is more valuable in this context?

Have you met our coach? Monty has ran a trio of 6'3 and under guys out there plenty of times.

Sure, but it wouldn't be something I'd feel comfortable with during a heavy-stakes situation, whereas I think this lineup might be useful against some match ups in the playoffs with Booker at the 3 maybe.
