My biggest fear is foul trouble for Ayton.
My biggest fear is a crowd full of Laker fans in our arena. I sure hope our fans don’t resell just to make a profit.

After a 10 year playoff drought, they better not resell. But it's Phoenix, so there are a lot of shallow opportunists.

My guess is that Lakers will play heavily Drummond on every first half and take him out the second. He even can be aggressive to the point of going on foul troubles if he already knows the second half will be watching from the bench.

You get the opposing bigs tired and off AD and Lebron, then proceed to put a fresh Davis at center for the second half. The spacing was terrible, but they still kept the Warriors within range, and the second half took them completely for surprise to the point of losing their advantage halfway the third Q.

I think that was planned, not adjusted by Vogel, so Monty better be ready.

I have been thinking about the playoffs a lot and in my mind I have decided that Ayton has been holding back on purpose and they will unleash the Kraken in the playoffs in a cleverly orchestrated plan. That’s my story and I’m sticking with it.
Ha!

You are a prophet, Nodack.

Also, where's everyone's confidence check after game 1?

About 2% higher than pre-game one. The Lakers lost their first game in a series twice last year.

Optimist take: yes Davis will probably come out like gangbusters next game, but we won with subpar offensive games from Paul, Bridges, Crowder and Payne. I’m not sure I’d count on that again.

I was thinking the same thing this morning. Booker is going to have a clunker, Paul will likely be less than 100%, and Ayton will be in foul trouble at some point. The Suns will need to get at least two games of Mikal/Either Cam/Crowder to play above their average numbers for the Suns to win this series.

Yep! And he’s convinced that it’s basically inevitable that the Suns will win the title lol.

I thought I heard he died too. Are you sure it’s him? He’s convinced the Suns will win a title? Thats sounds like the opposite of Cubby.

He didn't use those words, but he basically thinks there's no team that can stop us. I can tell it's the real Cubby, and he's still using the same account he's had since 2010 with over 51,000 posts: https://www.spurstalk.com/forums/showth ... 43&page=42

Then again Cubby’s favorite pastime is trolling people. Talking about the Suns winning it all on a Spurs site is something Cubby would enjoy doing.

It would be great to win our first title going through the Lakers. I could also see Cubby passing down his spamming legacy to his brethren but they'd have to be pretty dedicated to keep up his pace through the years.

If Davis is done, the Suns will take this in 6.

If Davis comes back, then this will go 7, and it's anyone's series.

I feel better about CP3 being more CP3ish...but I agree, Lakers won’t win another game without AD. LeBron had to play 22 minutes in the 2nd half...and those 2 minutes he sat weren’t good for LA. We would feast in the non-LeBron minutes more than we have been already.

I’m not too proud to take it in six with Davis sitting and the Lakers wondering what if. I get that ideally you want to beat everyone at their best but we have had enough “what if” moments as a franchise that I’d feel ok being in the other side of one.
