I think this will be Carter's last start for a while.
Carter has many fine attributes, but distribution is not one of them.
The ball has a tendency to stick when he gets it ...
I wish he was a smarter offensive player. And his full court ball-handling is atrocious.
I think Moore may have made a statement today get some more play.
I think it depends on how deep Monty wants to go. He may want to go with a 3-guard rotation with Paul/Booker/Payne. But if does give backup minutes at the 2 to someone other than Payne, Moore made a convincing argument today, simply because Carter hasn't done anything to lock that role down.

You have to respect a guy who has sat for that long come in and have a game like that.

If Cam Johnson is not healthy or knocking down shots, Moore could be a replacement for Johnson as far as bringing in shooting off the bench.

Moore also has a modicum of playoff experience ... 21 games in limited minutes.

Everyone focuses on his shooting but Cam's been better at defending and rebounding in his position this season. Moore can't replace that.

I don't think it will ever come down to Moore vs. Cam; two different players playing different positions. I think the Suns will get the Blazers in the first round, which practically guarantees Crowder will stay in starting lineup. So then the bench will be the 2 Cams, Craig, and Saric plus a starter. If Monty wants to go ten deep, then it will be a question of Carter vs. Moore.

Am I crazy to want Cam Payne to sit even though he's helping us a lot on the court? I just don't want any chance of injury.
There was one scare in the 2nd half too. Where he came up limping a bit. Hopefully, he's all good.

I'm not convinced Johnson will be ready to go in a week from now.

Wow, nice bit of excitement to end the season in spite of sitting most of the starters. I get Bridges wanting to play to extend his playing streak. It wasn't looking good at the end of the half but the Suns came out strong in the 2nd half. Drove me crazy when our announcers started talking about a win with 10 minutes remaining when we were only up about 7 or so. Of course I thought we blew it at the end when we allowed that FT miss put back to go down one. Big shot from Moore to win it! He ended up 9 of 10 from the field, I believe!

Man, you guys are bagging on Carter on a night he was one assist shy of a triple double.

It's a case of promoting the attributes of Moore.

What's with Paul and DeRozan? I can't make out the audio.

I also wondered out loud what it would take and mean for the rest of the roster to get DeRozan next year. I think he'd really put the Suns in the contender class if it was only at the expense of someone like Cam Johnson.

He’s a free agent...we’d need to sign and trade for him as I don’t imagine he’d take the MLE

We need a real PF, not another SF playing PF.

The Suns need another guy who can create shots more than a "real" power forward.

I like Derozan, but I don't think it makes any sense to add DeRozan to the Paul/Booker duo. You're bringing in more high-end talent, but I don't think it addresses any of the Suns weaknesses. And why bring in another perimeter player that 1) needs the ball in his hands, and 2) isn't a substantial threat from 3 and thrives more midrange play?

I think Derozan has played well in San Antonio because they've used his as a secondary/primary point guard and allowed him to set up others or create for himself. Will he have that opportunity with Paul and Booker? DeRozan only makes sense if Paul is moving on to LA.

Respectfully, DeRozan is almost exactly the type of player I would want the Suns *not* to pursue. Needs the ball, can't shoot 3s, not super high efficiency, would want lots of minutes / to start, not an awesome defender, doesn't address a need, and would want a sizeable amount of money. Pass.

Wouldn’t be my target either...unless CP3 opted out and left...then I think you consider it.
