I saw that quote from Vogel a few hours ago and it should worry Lakers fans. That's one of the more lame excuses I've ever seen from a coach. Who the hell does he think he's fooling with that one?
I looked at the full play from the second angle and he's right, Paul never gets his shoulder hit at all. It's purely a neck injury. Either they are unaware that it's not a shoulder contusion or they are just calling it that anyway. If there is some lingering nerve problem, they need to know that that's what it is, if they can help treat it.
This revelation gives me hope that he can be 100% soon, since it's clearly not an actual contusion.
Mentioned this a couple times but I would have said "jokingly tbh" that learning DA is a dad might lead to some newfound maturity.
Since then I've commented on the quality of his post game interviews and like it feels as if we are watching a kid grow up. Yes the letdowns still happen but that was quite the playoff debut and now here's this from Shams. I'm not a subscriber but I assume this interview is recent ??

The dreaded Lakers matchup became a reality. The Lakers seemed like they got healthy in time for the playoffs and the young Suns team just getting their first taste of the playoffs in a decade with three starters that have never been in a playoff game would be run over by the defending World Champs. The experts and Vegas bet on the Lakers big time too.
The Suns more than held their own. Their leader Chris Paul got injured and was mostly a decoy for most of the game. His back up Payne was ejected. You would think the Suns lost but, they didn’t. That’s not a good sign for the Lakers. Game two will answer a lot more questions. The Lakers are well known for losing the first game and destroying their opponents the next game. Monty is a clever guy. I’m sure he is going to have the Suns ready.

Lakers opened at 2.5 favorites. I think that's reasonable. Especially if Chris is still hurting. Wish the game were Wednesday instead of Tuesday.
