NIce recap, Bobster.
Of note ... many think Al was the Suns original broadcaster.
That would be Bob Vache, the sports editor/anchor from Channel 12.
He died in a car accident the second year, and was replaced by Hot Rod Hundley (with Red Kerr joining him after Kerr was canned as coach)
They were followed by Joe McConnell, who went on to bigger and better things ...
Then Al signed on.

I enjoyed the beginning of the article. Sure would love to see the rest of it.
Just costs you $72 a year...
It’s a little cheaper if you bundle with Hulu and Disney+…I think I pay 20 a month for all 3

How many remember watching games with John MacLeod?

Have we played Denver in the playoffs since the Antonio McDyess debacle? I'm always up for revenge served cold, even though most of the current players wouldn't know about it.

True, but I'm not going to pay that for one article. Not enough content of interest to me to pay a subscription.
Oh, I completely agree. Espn shouldn't get a dime from me because I think they suck. But I am stuck paying them through Cox subscriber fees.
Ah, I thought you were telling me I could afford it.

There's some videos and stuff on the full article, but I don't know how to copy it and post it with all the fancy clips and stuff.

Bob Vache also worked for Channel 12 at the time of his death and was on his way home from work when he was killed in a one-car accident at 26th Street and Washington.

He was also broadcaster for ASU sports and had been named Arizona's outstanding sports announcer by the National ports and Sportwriters Association 5 times over his 25-year career.

Rod Hundley, as you mention LL, replaced him as Suns broadcaster (with Hot Rod eventually leaving for the Lakers, and ultimately the Jazz), and then Joe McConnell took over as lead broadcaster for a while (McConnell worked for several baseball, basketball and football teams and was probably best known for broadcasting at Purdue). Al McCoy joined the Suns in 1972 after having done Phoenix Giants games.
