Too often coaches are judged by W/L record rather than how much they got out of the personnel available. It works both was - You get a coach like Luke Walton (Warriors) or Paul Westhead (Lakers) who are handed championship talent with little pressure on them and if they keep the team from capsizing they get rewarded, sometimes is excess of their ability.LazarusLong wrote: ↑Sun Nov 21, 2021 11:39 amKings once had a decent coach, Mike Malone, and canned him.
He's doing quite well with the Nuggets ...
The fans were chanting for his ouster last night. They got it the next morning. The Bobster wrote: ↑Sun Nov 21, 2021 11:34 amNo surprise.SunsRIt wrote: ↑Sun Nov 21, 2021 11:30 amWalton out as Kings head coach.

39-4 (.907) as an Assistant Coach filling in as the Head Coach for the Warriors.
166-241 (.408) as Head Coach with the Lakers and Kings
Just a hunch that the Warriors record might have been from the personnel, not his coaching.
Sounds familiar.
What does that say about Kerr? The Bobster wrote: ↑Sun Nov 21, 2021 11:34 amNo surprise.SunsRIt wrote: ↑Sun Nov 21, 2021 11:30 amWalton out as Kings head coach.

Well, I think you saw what kind of coach he was the last couple of years when they didn't have the personnel.Indy wrote: ↑Sun Nov 21, 2021 1:26 pmWhat does that say about Kerr? The Bobster wrote: ↑Sun Nov 21, 2021 11:34 amNo surprise.SunsRIt wrote: ↑Sun Nov 21, 2021 11:30 amWalton out as Kings head coach.

Hmm, not really trying to make an argument for him, but I do think he and Klay are close. I could hear an argument either way. Pau is above Marion for sure. Dwight Howard is the biggest snub imo. As for Jokic, he’s clearly headed for a better career than all these guys, but it’s just a little strange to put him in already. I don’t have a problem with him in as he’s clearly been one of the best 75 players(at their prime) but I’m fine also letting him play out his career.
