Game Day: Spurs (8-13) @ Suns (19-4), Mon 12/6/21

Post by Superbone »

Time: 7:00 pm AZ (6:00 pm PT/9:00 pm ET)
Place: Footprint Center, Phoenix, AZ
TV: BSAZ, NBALP

Unfortunately, the streak has ended. However, why not start another with win number one? It could be a lot of fun.

The Spurs come to town on a four game winning streak of their own including beating the Warriors in San Fran in their last outing. Book is still recovering from a hamstring injury and will not play.

Go Suns!!!

Looks like they might not suck after all, or maybe they just improved that much after playing the Suns.

The Suns are mentally strong enough to put a bad second half in SF behind them. I think DeJounte Murray's length gives Paul more trouble than most matchups so that's the wildcard to me.

Yup
Last time CP3 was way too casual around Dejounte which was surprising to me because the bball junkie he is, he will obviously know the tendencies of lots of players in the league especially fellow point guards.

This one might be interesting
Another possible look into how we function without Book n CP3 initiating everything

I’d love for Jalen Smith to get some minutes in this one and produce. Then we can go back to the Spurs with “see what a stud this guy is? Now how about that Thad guy you’re barely playing?”

I like that they used a photo of JaVale dribbling like he's a guard.

Literal milliseconds before he turned it over, I'm guessing.

Defense needs to tighten up. And hopefully Spurs' 3 point shooting will revert to the norm.

But we seem to have trouble with Murray's length and speed.

Ugly so far. Cam Johnson was like 0-4 before that steal and lay in. McGee getting it done inside and giving us some real good minutes. He's already got 10 and 5 in 5 minutes lol. Shamet's been doing well attacking the basket and drawing some fouls. Tough to play Wainright, Payton and McGee because of the lack of shooting. 2nd unit is chipping away.

Monty played JaVale about 30 seconds too long.

I like what Cam J is doing. Smart player. Even though that last one was overturned.

I'm happy with the dribble drives 💪👍
Still struggling with the middies tho, think he's rushing those

Very solid defensive quarter there
DA doing alright, just needs to be stronger with the ball this half and he probably gonna be a problem as I think we're gonna keep looking for him

Might be a career high in turnovers today for DA...

I agree. I think for him and Shamet both it's mental. They are surprised by how open they get and become indecisive/tentative. Can't believe I'm saying this but pick up more of a Mamba mentality. Shoot the air out of the ball.
