Need someone to join Book, up to 16 in the Q, but we’re down 28-20

Cam Johnson looking like Scottie Pippen on the steal and drive ...
Wainright’s impression on the sidelines was hilarious.

Shame he couldn’t hit his two three pointer attempts at the end.

Fun game, defense put the clamps on in the late 3rd and 4th and we ran away with it in the end. Book was feeling it and is in a groove right now. 48/6/5/3 and 0 turnovers. In fact our starting lineup had 0 turnovers, 5 for the team.

Paul was 15/12/2/2/2

Love what I’ve seen from Payne lately…if we can just get Shamet going.

So much for that 2 threes streak. Time to start a new one! I love Cam J and hope he retires a Sun.

Book was amazing in this one, of course. Biyombo was also great, especially in the first half. Cam Johnson was awesome and I just love watching him play. Paul semi-quietly had a solid night. Good effort overall even though not a lot of guys stepped up with big scoring.

The only guy I was kind of disappointed in was Shamet. He played tough defense and helped out on the boards but his shot has got to come around. He’s still getting to his spots so I’ll keep believing.

Shamet was pretty rough last night. Had a few misses and a bad turnover. After the turnover you could tell he was beating himself up over it. At this point, it's not totally surprising he was moved 3 times early in his career. My biggest issues (aside from his shooting) are that there's a ton of extra dribbling when he gets the ball - a lot of east-west movement that doesn't help anyone. I also think because he's undersized, has to rush his shots against the defense coming at him and isn't strong enough to really get his way to the basket consistently.

Also wondering if Monty goes with Biyombo as a starter if DA is out for a few more games. JaVale may be best as a supersub who can play 100mph in spurts instead of sustained play over a half a quarter. Keeps the 2nd unit in tact too where the Cams and JaVale seem to have some good chemistry.

He seems reluctant to launch when he has a sliver of space which leads to the dribbling. I honestly think this whole offensive issue will cascade down in a positive way once he hits the open shots. He might also be slightly better with the starters who create better spacing and gets him easier shots.

Suns outscore Spurs 34-16 in fourth.
It is so different to watch a team with a switch to flip.

I have come to just expect the switch to be turned on late in the third or early in the fourth every time it’s a close game. They just up the defense getting stops and Paul starts shooting more like clockwork.

Isn't it amazing after so many lean years?

And...how did the Suns end up with the best center rotation in the NBA?

It's amazing Biyombo was out there for the taking.
True, he's limited offensively, but he's a proven NBA commodity.

Sounds like he was out there based on his desire. Like we would have signed him during free agency if he wanted to play.

It just feels like every shot he puts up is going to bounce out. Even wide open 3s, he just doesn't seem to be able to get any rhythm. I'm super disappointed in him. I don't know what exactly he needs, maybe driving to the hoop more or focusing on passing or defense more or something, anything to get into a flow and rhythm or something. Or lock himself in a gym and shoot 1000 3s a day. But I'm losing patience with the guy and am starting to want him out.

He is having a bad shooting year, but still shooting better from 3 than Payne and CP3. The only guys shooting better from 3 are CamJ, Book, Mikal and just barely Crowder (35.9% vs 35.4%).

CP3’s shot really worries me. Shamet not so much. When he runs around the perimeter he has the gravity to draw a defender and that’s what we need more than anything else. of course it’d be great if he could hit more open shots, but his function right now is to plug in for Booker and he’s done that.
