I have a ton of respect for D'Antoni, but Monty would coach circles around him.

Ya, one thing that kinda made sense that Marion said when he went off on the 7SOL suns while on Raja’s pod was that the suns didn’t have any other game plans. It was 100% Nash/Amare pnr driven and they really struggled if you could take them out of it.

Switching wasn’t huge back then, you could honestly just switch that every time and really give those teams problems. Not sure D’Antoni would have a counter.

Amare vs Ayton would be fascinating.
This! Ayton would learn a lot about aggressiveness taking the ball to the hoop.

Fun analysis. As much as I love the late-2000s Nash Suns, I think I agree with folks that they would have a really tough time stopping the current Suns team. Maybe this group is our best squad ever, after all.

I finally got around to watching the Suns part of this. Here's a link starting right at our stuff.

Suns/Mavs talk thrown in at the end as a “better not piss off Suns fans” and then they proceeded to have a long conversation about our Suns. What was supposed to be two minutes turned into 20. Book, Paul, and Legler loves Ayton.

Legler didn’t like Book holding the follow through pose in game 2. Doesn’t like our showboating. Might have a point. Redick comes back with the entertainment aspect. Redick says Book talks the most shit in the NBA.

FYI, Scott Foster is not reffing today. Likely means he will be tomorrow.

Oh, boy. I have the right to change my stance about winning Game 4 and winning in 5 if Foster is reffing Game 4.

It is true. DA is 16th in the playoffs on shots taken, but 3rd in made. He is extremely efficient.

We are pretty egalitarian in our shots this post season (despite the fact Book missed games).

Book, Ayton, and Paul have all taken between 140 and 144 shots. Next on the list is Mikal at 120. Then huge drop to Jae (92) and CamJ (88).

Makes are Ayton (93), Paul (79), Book (70), Mikal (61), Cam (42), Jae (38).

Maybe if he was more aggressive and in better position he’d command them more. Ayton practically has to be bottle fed right now to go off.
