Man, that sucks what Monty went through right after being fired. Talk about a double whammy! Did I read that right that the situation with his wife had improved? I wish him nothing but the best in Detroit. He was exactly what we needed when he came here and took us quickly to the NBA Finals. I will always cherish his time here and appreciate what he brought to the program.
It sounded like his wife received her diagnosis before he was fired (I assume by "during the playoffs" he means while the Suns were still playing?). But yeah it sounds like they caught it early enough, thankfully!

Monty is going to have a positive impact on Detroit. I wish him nothing but the best. The right coach for us at the right time. Gave us some really good years.

Thanks, Shel. Tough getting fired while dealing with that family situation. Similar situation with Bud in Milwaukee. Wishing Monty and his wife the best, and hoping he helps Cunningham, Duren, and Ivey and co. to realize their potential.
His previous wife died in a car accident right? Man.
Go Suns!

That's OK. We need new voices in the locker room.

Jarret Jack was a Chris Paul/Monty Williams guy. It would be unusual if he continued with the Vogel staff.

I thought for sure this was a parody account at first.

There is something not right with that man.

Jones and Vogel out, Lue or Lee in, draft Grant Nelson or Tyler Kolek.

I mean yeah he's trying to make a joke or something but it's still a really weird thing to say.

I meant more that he was joking about his previous comment about Landry. It’s just weird…maybe someone brought up the Landry stuff before? If he’s just making a joke unprompted about it again, I agree it’s really weird. At least Landry was talking about him as a person…this is talking about them like he wants them to help give him nba grandkids. Weird.

Haha, nope, it's real. Here's the full video from ESPN's channel (the relevant clip starts at around 6:08):

ANNOUNCER: So, Coach Williams, what do you think of this new Pistons team?

MONTY: You've got Cade Cunningham, obviously. I could really see him sexually satisfying my daughter. Maybe a little Cade Cunnilingus, know what I mean?

ANNOUNCER: Er, ..., I meant, what about this amazing class of athletes we have on this team?

MONTY: Looking forward to working with Ausar Thompson. A twin, how about that. I like to think about him and his brother just taking turns plowing my daughter in every hole imaginable. "Amen" to that, huh?

ANNOUNCER: I ..., um, what about the veteran leadership on this roster, what are you hoping to see there?

MONTY: So glad to have a guy like Isaiah Stewart on this team and in the locker room. Built like a truck. Just imagine the grandchildren he'd give me; hopefully granddaughters that I can offer up to the next generation of NBA players to bang. And Bojan Bogdanovic, I love the way he sees the game, the example he sets for the other guys. Last week I had him showing the guys different lovemaking positions, techniques. A lot of these young guys can't even do The Shocker, much less read the Kama Sutra. Hopefully by training camp we'll have guys like Marcus Sasser and Killian Hayes able to pull a proper pretzel dip and make my baby girl moan consistently.

ANNOUNCER: Okay, we need to cut to commercial now; thanks to Coach Monty Williams for joining us ...
