I’d even start him if need be. All 3 of Beal/Book/EG are similar sized and you’d just switch them across 1-3 defensively.

Why are you opposed to that?

I think that's a terrible defensive configuration. Gordon is strong, but he is also slowing and short. Beal isn't a plus defender. Book has made huge strides as a defender, but I don't want him to be the best defender among our 1-3 starters. I think that is an Anti-Vogel lineup.

Dragic starting at SF.

But I would welcome EG as a sixth man, the guard lineup would be solid.

Are you wanting more of a pg defender or another big? I guess my question is are you wanting Book/Beal at the 1/2 or 2/3?

I think Book, Beal and KD will bring the ball up at different times and initiate the offense, like they did in the playoffs.

I still think we need to add another PG though.

Funny enough, I think the ideal fit with this new star-studded lineup would be Rubio if he can fully make it back from the ACL injury. Solid defender, elite distributor, won't be needed to score much, but can keep a defense honest

Capela just doesn't do it for me. It never seems like he is a plus in the playoffs. He looks ok on paper, but just comes across as an overpriced mid-level big.

And I agree with JNix: Hunter isn't impressive. I know 'bazz likes him. I liked him as a draft prospect, but so far I feel like he has been a mediocre pro who was financially rewarded based on potential and not based on actually being established as an impact player. Him and Capela combined feel like $40 million that could be better used elsewhere.

If ATL is hanging on to Griffin and Okongwu in any deal, then I am not motivated to send them Ayton. I like Jalen Johnson, Bruno Fernando, and Bogdanovic, but I am just not interested in taking on any of their other pricey veterans.
I don’t love Hunter. His advanced D stats are rough and he can’t stay healthy. I just think he’d be a HUGE upgrade from whomever we’re currently looking at as a 5th starter. And I think he fits very well next to our big 3 line Shel said.

Gallo and/or Prince would be really good signings for us. Gallo's really become a plodder these days but would give us a nice shooting forward. Prince would give us that 3/4 defensive player. Plus he's a Baylor guy and we seem to love them. Fischer's article also mentions DDV as a target for the Knicks joining up with Brunson and Hart from Villanova (plus Mikal in BK)

Prince would be a great fit.

I think we may have a better version of that today in Jordan Goodwin.

That Mavs trade was ass though. Not even close to decent value for Ayton.

Say what you want about Ayton, but he's never had a playoffs that bad.

Besides this last one you mean?

Ayton was 13/10 with a .553 TS%, .047 WS/48 and a -3.5 BPM. -4.2 on/off rating.

Allen was 9/7 with a .608 TS%, .150 WS/48 and a 2.4 BPM. -3.5 on/off rating.

Allen's a good regular season big but he got manhandled by the Knicks frontcourt in the playoffs.
