2023 Free Agency Thread

Post by Split T »

Right now we only have the TPMLE and vet min deals to bring in new players. We can get to a place where we’d have access to the full MLE and the BAE, but that does require waiving and stretching CP3.

Of course we can always sign and trade as well(again that would require waiving and stretching CP3 to get under the hard cap).

Here’s a list of free agents that seem relevant to me:

Grant Williams(restricted)
Seth Curry
Yuta Watanabe
Kelly Oubre
Dennis Smith Jr.
PJ Washington(restricted)
Coby White(restricted)
Javonte Green
Caris LaVert
Kyrie Irving
Christian Wood
Jeff Green
Thomas Bryant
Bruce Brown(PO)
Alec Burks(TO)
Hamidou Diallo
Donte Divencenzo(PO)
Draymond Green(PO)
JaMychal Green
Kenyon Martin Jr(TO)
Mason Plumlee
Lonnie Walker IV
Malik Beasley(TO)
D’Angelo Russell
Dennis Schroeder
Rui Hachimura(restricted)
Austin Reaves(restricted)
Dillon Brooks
Max Strus
Gabe Vincent
Brook Lopez
Khris Middleton(PO)
Wesley Matthews
Meyers Leonard
Naz Reid
Jaylen Nowell
Nickeil Alexander-Walker(restricted)
Josh Richardson
Naji Marshall(TO)
Josh Hart(PO)
Georges Niang
Jalen McDaniels
Shake Milton
James Harden(PO)
Drew Eubanks
Jerami Grant
Harrison Barnes
Terrence Davis
Trey Lyles
Jakob Poeltl
Fred VanVleet(PO)
Gary Trent(PO)
Jordan Clarkson(PO)
Kyle Kuzma(PO)

I've liked Thomas Bryant for awhile. I think Shake Milton would be a good addition too.

I like Brown, Divencenzo, and McDaniels too. A few others I’d look at as more of vet min guys.

There's lots of good names on that list. I think Brook Lopez would do sneaky well here. I wonder if a sign and trade with Milwaukee could bring back some additional players?

PG gas to be a high priority need...VanVleet appears the best option on that list...

Wood, Barnes for C and PF

Irving and Green. We finally win a championship, but with a team I can’t root for.

The team needs more shooting and rebounding. I'd start there and cut up my list. Need guys who can make an open 3 with consistency because Lord knows they're going to have them with Book n Durant.

Bogdan
Divencenzo
Niang
Struts

All guys I'd give a look too. I love the energy Divencenzo plays with.

Impossible to say until trades take place, which is perhaps the best reason to execute any trades and/or roster moves before FA season.

I think Naz Reid has to be the number one target. He'll want to get paid, but I also think he wants to be to start.

There doesn't appear to be a lot teams that will have the cap space to make him a huge offer. Orlando and Houston could get there, but they are also covered at the 4 and 5.

Justise Winslow has a great skillset to pair with the Big 3, but unfortunately he doesn't play basketball. So I can't see how you can bring him in. You're just setting yourself up for disappointment/failure.

He intrigued me…but ya he’s never healthy. But if he’s just a minimum player I’d take a chance
