I get that too however Chris is smart enough to know he ain't worth 30 mil currently so maybe he should have been a little more willing to work out a deal to stay if he wanted it that bad. Basketball is a business first. His contract was currently bad business. Wish he could still be a Sun but I didn't ever read anything about his willingness to give up any money so I guess he and his 30 mil can go be a Wizard for the time being.

Spot on. I'm sad he has gone as I loved what he did for the franchise but it seems (we don't know) that his ego wouldn't let him accept a smaller deal. As you say if he wanted to be here he had to have the self awareness to realise his level of performance no longer matches his contract.

Crazy idea...put this elsewhere not expect this...seems appropriate here...

a. Wiz negotiate a buyout w/Chris, he retires.
b. Suns hire Chris as a bench coach for this season, works on his health for the season.
c. Coming season, Chris unretires and joins as the second unit PG.

i like it. I'd love to have Paul still involved. He was one of the few, truly selfless players in league history who really knew the game and played it the right way. My fondest memories of the Suns will be when they were under the strong, wise floor leadership of Nash, Paul, and Kidd at the point.

True, but reports are he’s opting out. I wasn’t sure if Kuzma was a great fit before, but if he was iffy, he’s even more iffy now. We don’t need more scorers. So I’m not too interested in him anymore.

Didn’t listen but reading on twitter, it seems Gambo was saying Chris Paul wasn’t interested in getting waived and coming back on the minimum, wanted to stay but at his 30 million salary fully guaranteed.

Paul loves Paul first and foremost, anything he says should probably be taken with a grain of salt on the way out.
