USA Basketball

FIBA WORLD CUP is later this month as discussed in other threads
The average NBA fan doesn't probably pay that much attention but this gonna be a big deal.

That was a fun watch. Thanks. Two pretty evenly matched teams. Tough watching the Twins play so well. Brunson has really surprised me how good he's become. I still remember when he was available for our pick and we had some buzz here but I don't recall who we went with instead.

ETA: Just looked it up. We took the wrong PG. That was the Ayton #1 overall draft and we took Élie Okobo at 31, two spots before Brunson went.

Yikes. That would have been pretty great to get Ayton and Brunson in the same draft.

We got a triple but just missed out on a home run.

No soup for me. My Fox programming shows FIFA Women's World Cup. On top of that, my Fox on DirecTV is currently unavailable due to a contract dispute.

JJJ and Ayton should swap salaries.

I'm impressed. That's the first time you've ever admitted that Ayton deserves $27M+ per year.

France might've just lost their entire tournament after one game. It's going to be tough for them to overcome a 30 point deficit in point differential to make it out of their group.

Nice showing from Canada. They deftly pulled off the USA strategy of smothering defense leading to easy baskets and a superstar getting to his spots at will.

Yeah, they looked a lot like a USA team with the way they played. The team seems to be entirely constructed with good NBA players. Should be a very tough team with SGA and RJ leading the way.

Canada could be a very real threat soon. SGA, Murray, Wiggins, Barrett is a solid core. They’ve also got Mathurin and Shaedon Sharpe in the pipeline. Little light on bigs, but they do have nba guys with Powell, Birch, and Boucher. Dillon Brooks and Lu Dort are also there.

Don't forget Olynek & Edey. Probably more in the pipeline that we haven't recognized yet.
