He. Averages. 2.9. Assists.

This hyping up of his "passing ability" is getting ridiculous. Now Suns fans will just be disappointed when they find out it's been overrated.

Nurkic’s AST% last five seasons: 17.9, 19.1, 21.4, 16.6, 16.4
Ayton’s AST% last five seasons: 9.6, 9.7, 6.8, 7.6, 9.2

Yes but if he plays 36 minutes it’s 4 assists

Still double Ayton’s rate.

4 per 36 really isn’t bad for a non-Serbian center.

Under rating his passing because you’re grieving isn’t a great basketball take. It’s not much of a debate that he is a good passer and offense creator for his teammates. Sure if you play johnny box score you can make that point on 2.9 assist I guess. But having a center that gets you screen assists plus dishing dimes (3 or 4) is a big deal when you’re running your offense through scorers and combo-guard skillsets. When you pull up Nurkic game and career highlights, it’s not all dunks and blocks- he makes smart passes. Buck up cowboy and get ready for a great fucking season.

I meant to respond to Jeremy, but you snuck your post in haha…just having a little fun as he usually talks up Ayton’s numbers by giving Ayton 36 minutes

The second half of this quote from James Jones' Tom & Tom interview got more press, but I thought the first part was an interesting subtweet as well:

on what he likes about Nurk "..Can he make the right read? Can he roll to the basket and will he score? Will he make the right pass.. but understanding that he's a big? We need him in the paint. We need him at the rim. We need him to be big..."

There's a reason he only plays 26.

We have good depth. The quality of his minutes counts more than the quantity.

I saw that interview during my planning period & that stood out to me as well. They don't want a center that plays w/ just one foot in the paint and then fades away with a jumper constantly. They want a rim running big man.
Go Suns!

Is there a way to block posts containing certain words? Like for instance I didn’t want to see cuss words and block posts with the F word in it? I don’t care about cussing. I want to block the word Ayton. He was traded and isn’t coming back. Nurkic is our Center now. Jeremy, are you going to spend the entire year bashing Nurkic out of spite? That’s going to get old real fast.

He's not going away. This is going to be an all year thing but evidently he's still grieving. He's pushing troll levels at this point.

I just watched Steve Smith interview Bradley Beal on NBATV and I’ve got to say, I was impressed with how jacked Beal is. The guy is in top physical shape. Looking forward to seeing how he fits in with Book and Durant!

He did have some really nice glistening muscles with some bulging veins. Looked really hard and fit. He'd probably look good swimming in a pool. 🔥
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

Time to give it a rest, Jeremy. We want Nurkic to succeed and will be pulling for him.

I don't think he'll be any good in the paint on offense, though. He has been terrible at it in the past.
