Game Day: Suns (1-0) @ Lakers (0-1), Thurs 10/26/23

Place: Crypto.com Arena, Los Angeles, CA
TV: TNT

The Suns continue their opening road trip as they face off against the Lakers in their home opener Thursday night on TNT. Beal and Booker are both doubtful. I guess we just can't have nice things. You'd think we'd start the season injury free, but no! Well, I guess we need to learn to take the long term approach and hope they're healthy down the line. It will be a good opportunity to get our deep bench time. My assumption is that Allen and Gordon will replace our doubtful deuce if they both can't go.

Disappointing it looks like Book and Beal may well miss (although I have a suspicion one will suit up). It’s a good early test of our depth and a bit of a ‘free hit’ if we’re short handed I guess. Either way, go Suns!!!

This seems like an obvious loss but the Lakers aren’t a very good collective team at this point. Wouldn’t shock me if the Suns still won with Booker and Beal out.

If EG and Allen start it leaves our bench pretty thin on scorers. I wonder if Vogel would go Goodwin but that's probably not likely. Also need Nurk to hold up against AD better than last time. I'd also expect Little, KBD and/or Metu to see some action since the Lakers have more size/swings.

I blame whoever it was who posted on here just a week ago that "every team starts their season healthy." :P

Beal needs to suit up. That stiff back isn't going to get any better sitting on the bench. Probably just stiff from not playing any meaningful games the last 4 seasons anyway.

I don’t know how concern I should be about these injuries, like is it something it’s gonna linger for a couple months or maybe longer? Or they are mostly okay but this new regime just embracing load management more and we’re being extra cautious. I lean more towards the ladder but idk.

Wouldn’t be surprise if they miss the home opener but wouldn’t be surprise if they play either.

Despite no Book and Beal, I still think we can beat L.A...we just need consistent play from EG and Graysun...
KD will be allright tonight.

Besides the fact I always wanna beat Lakers so being short-handed is less than ideal
If we were to be having games with one of the Big 3 playing I would rather it not be KD

Don't think we want to be doing the heavy usage/minutes thing with him so I wanna see how Vogel handles that tonight

We've discussed it in other threads but clearly the game plan is to be very physical with him, Tauren Prince surely that type who gonna wanna be stuck to him so will see how this goes

IT'S 'LATTER' WALLY, LADDER'S ARE THINGS YOU DON'T WALK UNDER UNLESS YOU WANT BAD LUCK; IT'S PROBABLY WHAT BOOKER AND BEAL DID.

Catching up on my timeline and Lakers fans still venting about AD, crying that Bron again has no help

So wish we can add to their misery let me get some more laughs

Was going to get tickets and go up to see this game. Glad I didn't now. Lakers by 20.

For Suns fans in LA, it’s gotta be Clippers games over Lakers. The cost you’re paying in resale markets is insane. I’m still getting emails and calls from Clippers ticket reps after last going to a game in 2021. The demand just isn’t there.

Part of me wants to believe this is Vogel playing chess and not showing his hand with lineups, subs, sets vs western conference rivals this early in the year. Probably wishful thinking tho.
