AD is the least of their worries right now, he's playing great. Let's see how it looks down the road when he's banged up and the other guys need to do something in his absence.

What a terrible pick by the Hornets.

Some notable players drafted after James Bouknight:

Moses Moody #14
Alperen Sengun #16
Tre Mann #18
Cam Thomas #27
Herb Jones #35

I probably missed a few, but those were some that stood out. Not the most loaded draft after the top 5 or so.

I see it like this.. (all potential)

All-NBA: 4 - Cunningham, Mobley, Barnes, Wagner
All-Star: 3 - Green, Giddy, Sengun
Playoff Starter: 5 - Suggs, Kuminga, Murphy, Jalen Johnson, Herb Jones
TBD but likely a specialist role player: 6 - Mitchell, Williams, Moody, Kispert, Grimes, Thomas

That's 18 guys who can play real minutes. Doesn't seem too bad to me.

We’ve had much worse…Jalen, Bender, Jackson, Chriss

Maybe I was feeling a little ornery as I wrote that while we were coughing up the lead against the Spurs (!) but I’m not as convinced some of those players get to the All-NBA or All-Star level, at least consistently. It does have decent depth as a draft, maybe not the absolute top end that some others do.

I envision those tiers as the ceilings for those players if that wasn't clear. Not saying they will certainly get there, I just don't expect any of them to go higher than I listed.

The halfcourt defense looks good and the halfcourt offense will pick up with Book and Beal. So nothing all that surprising there. We're obviously better playing faster right now.

Milwaukee also got beat bad tonight, and at least right now it looks like the addition of Dame as a shooter isn't covering for the loss of Jrue Holiday as a defender. They've got some things to figure out, and might eventually have to try to go get a legitimate perimeter stopper to play opposite Lillard.

It doesn’t help them that Holiday now plays for one of their main rivals in the east either.

Nice depth signing for them with Adams out

I like Dame, but I think it's hard to build a contender around a ball-dominant high-volume shooter who plays bad defense. Having a guy like Jrue who is a nasty defender and unselfish on offense is such a luxury. Then the lion's share of their shots can go to Giannis and Middleton and their spot-up shooters. Not sure why they felt the need to "upgrade" the PG spot.

Because Milwaukee’s downfall has been their half court offense. It’s not been good in the playoffs (outside of 2021 of course). They sacrificed some defense for offense.

Giannis can create his own shot, but he’s far more dangerous in transition or receiving the ball on the move. Getting a pg like Dame who can handle the ball in crunch time will be huge for them. Also Dame is not ball dominant. He’s one of the best off ball shooters in the game. He’s more Steph than Trae
