I think it’s becoming pretty clear that KD is past the point of being able to carry a team. And the heavy minutes he’s playing is not helping. He’s too worn out by the end of the game. 1-2 FT, 2 rebounds, 5 TO—not a great game. And the 28.6% 3-point shooting this season is a bit concerning.

Credit to Durant for saying he still should have held onto the ball at the end, even if he was fouled. There’s a whole lot of what ifs and blame to go around though.
He needed to cover it up with his hands, hold it against his chest, and put his elbows out so nobody could get to it.

That’s why we have Booker. KD will be elite as a 2nd option

And he knows it. Why do you think he's been teaming up with other great players. First Steph and then Irving and Harden and now Booker. Yeah, his 4th quarter production hasn't been great. He needs more help. I still think this team can provide more too even without Book and Beal. Hopefully, this bench will continue to grow with the extra early season time together.

I'd hope we wax the Spurs on Thursday after this slap in the face. These guys know better than to try to coast to a win.

The Spurs won't be a great team this year, but Wemby is enough of a phenom that they'll be in a lot of games and will surprise teams on some nights. If you take away 2 of any team's best 3 players, you can probably beat them. Suns need to learn more consistent ways to generate offense when KD rests and need to play hard defense to hold leads.

Yeah, when the opposing team jumps on his back and then racks him across the face, he needs to learn he can't trust the referees to do their job, and hold the ball more securely. He probably should have learned this when a play or two before, he clearly got pushed when he was shooting and nothing was called. Good thing he made it(although, did it really matter in the end?). It will be interesting how the 2 minute report turns out. When does that come out again?

You should probably just blame the coach.

So the final few possessions we went back to ISO ball with KD. No ball movement, the defense played up on everyone and we almost turned the ball over twice in that final minute because everyone knew we were looking for KD. There has to be better offense down the stretch. I don't really understand taking Nurk out and replacing him with Yuta with under a minute left but I guess it's the offense-defense thing and Yuta did get a good look from the corner but missed. But then we were undersized with KD at center and neither KD nor Okogie boxed out which led to the Wemby putback dunk on. We also could've taken the TO and advanced the ball before the KD strip so Okogie has to have better awareness inbounding the ball.

Just poor execution all around, need to be better. Felt like we panicked and tightened up under the pressure defense.

It’s just that he wasn’t playing for the Suns before, we as fans have known for years that any call against a league darling’s team is going to be called against the Suns. Opposing teams have been hacking and pushing Durant with no calls during this 4 game span, and his surprised look tells me that I’m correct about my first line. The Suns need to crush those teams to avoid getting at mercy of the referees.

No reason to panicking yet, and hopefully a growing experience to avoid this stuff late in the season. An embarrassing loss for a team that was toying with their opponent basically the entire first half.

But if that's the case, then the question would be, why is this still happening? I thought it was supposed to be because of Sarver, according to Donaghy.
