NBA In-Season Tournament

Post by Mori Chu »

I figured this tournament deserved its own thread. I guess? The first of its "group play" games are tonight. If you're watching the tournament, this is the place to discuss it.

They look like candy wrappers. I hate them.

A specific thread to bitch and moan like some grumpy old guys is of to a predictable start.

Why not pass to Caruso, who is wide open, instead doing a tough turn around like that?

Basically the same game Booker just had(ok not quite, but Book just needs to take away a few missed shots).

I'm now about to check highlights but at a glance it looks like all the games were competitive

I'm sure the decision makers behind the tournament will like the above image especially as there been a bunch of blowouts to start the season

lol was thinking the same thing….

One of my biggest pet peeves is people stopping in the flow of traffic while walking…. We were at the dbacks game and this kept happening and was getting irritated. My wife said I’m turning into a crotchety old man…. I didn’t deny it 😂

And don't even get me started on all this 3pt shooting. Back in my day, the bigs played in the paint! And guards were scared to drive the ball to the basket because they knew they'd get put on their ass!

I agree… the league is “softer” now by far…. All you have to say is “load management” to trigger an old school player. Those were real men.

Are they really claiming close game scoring margins as a sign that their tournament was a hit? Okay. Now do the ratings.

If the in-season tournament is won by a team with no championships, will they hang a banner? Or would that just call attention to the fact that they have no real championships?

Ratings are obviously the main goal, but doesn’t competitive games indicate the players took these games seriously? Only 1 day in 10 years had more competitive games…you think that’s a coincidence?

The ratings for last night might not be great, but if people start to realize the tourney games are more competitive, they will tune in.
