Game Day: Suns (33-23) @ Rockets (24-31), Friday 2/23/24

Post by ShelC »

Time: 6:00 pm AZ (5:00 pm PT/8:00 pm ET)
Place: Toyota Center in Houston, TX
TV: Arizona’s Family 3TV / Arizona’s Family Sports

Suns playing again tonight on a B2B but so are the Rockets, who lost to New Orleans last night. Bradley Beal (hamstring) and Jusuf Nurkic (right ankle sprain) are both doubtful for tonight's game. Missing Nurk would be a blow with how well Sengun's been playing. Jalen Green was on a tear before All-Star Break, VanVleet is always a threat, Dillan the Villain is a pain in the ass, Jabari Smith Jr can do a bit of everything and rookies Amen Thompson and Cam Whitmore can do some damage off the bench. Hopefully the Suns can cut down on the turnovers and get a win on the road before coming back to Phoenix for Sunday's game against the Lakers.

Doc Rivers rules, Rockets by 50.
Jones and Vogel out, Lue or Lee in, draft Grant Nelson or Tyler Kolek.

I'd like to see how Thad does in a small ball lineup.

Hopefully we can bounce back from last night's tough loss. Sucks to hear that Nurk is banged up. I woke up today scared to check the news because I worried we'd hear that KD had a knee fracture. Phewwwwww. We're still the better team and should be able to get a win here.

Nurk and Beal both out. Report says they'll hopefully be back for Sunday's game but then the next game is next Thursday so maybe that'd be a nice extended break for Beal?

I have a deep love in my heart for the classic Sierra graphical adventure games. I'm a bit older than my wife (44) so I was just the right age for those games. Played them all. King's Quest, Space Quest, Quest for Glory, Police Quest, Leisure Suit Larry, Gabriel Knight, on and on. Just great entertainment.

I really can't handle KD and his loose ass handle running the show, I'm going back to gaming. This is gross

I played them before I worked there too. Adventure games were always my favorite. SQ was my favorite series and then I got the opportunity to be lead programmer on SQ6. It was a cool time. I got to meet Ken and Roberta Williams, Al Lowe, Scott Murphy, etc.

There's still no team, just a collection of players. A bunch of dudes out there running, passing, shooting. Vogel hasn't figured out a steady rotation, still no reliable offense outside of Book and KD contested jumpers, still shoddy defense.

I think the rotation would be a bit more defined if it weren’t for missing two starters to injury and trying to integrate two new players.

It's been like this all year. It's part roster construction and part Vogel just looking for answers a lot of the time.

My thoughts exactly. There isn’t cohesion, no flow on offense. It’s mismatch hunting and 3 guys standing around. And once we fall behind or lose momentum, Book and Durant take turns on who’s going to force the next shot. Defensively the other 3 are just as unengaged. It’s not only not successful, but it’s turned two guys with some of the most aesthetically pleasing skills and made the product unwatchable.
