Game Day: Rockets (25-33) @ Suns (34-24), Thurs 2/29/24

Post by Superbone »

Time: 7:00 pm AZ (6:00 pm PT/9:00 pm ET)
Place: Footprint Center, Phoenix, AZ
TV: AZ Family 3TV, NBALP

The Suns are back in action Thursday night for a two game home miniseries against the Rockets tonight and Saturday night. We owe these guys after blowing a 4th quarter comeback in Houston in our last match up. We need to win these two as we have a very tough stretch after that.

A little tardy with the thread Super. 😜

https://www.essentiallysports.com/nba-a ... stionable/
The Phoenix Suns will be back in action tomorrow against the Houston Rockets. Kevin Durant and Co. are enjoying a three-day break following Sunday’s win over the LA Lakers. However, the Suns face a huge dilemma as few players have yet to completely recover from their injuries despite the long break. Bradley Beal and Eric Gordon missed the last game due to injury, and their status remains questionable for tomorrow’s Rockets clash.

To add to the Suns’ concerns, Center Jusuf Nurkic’s status for tomorrow’s game is also probable. The 7-footer is dealing with a right ankle sprain. Nurkic had a monster game in the win against the Lakers, going off for 18 points, 22 rebounds, and 7 assists. If he misses tomorrow’s game, that will be a massive blow for the Suns who have been plagued by injuries throughout the season.

Thanks for making the thread, Boney. Agree with others that we kind of need to bank this win heading into a brutal stretch. Let's go get it.

I'm guessing Beal will play tonight. I want to see the full Big = 3 back in action.

No problem, Marty. Sorry it was late, Nodack. My humblest apologies. I kept meaning to make it last night but I got distracted and forgot. I hope I can be forgiven for this egregious negligence on my part. Alas, I must admit that I am not perfect. Marty, feel free to dock my pay.

PHOENIX SUNS INJURY REPORT
Jusuf Nurkić (Right Ankle Sprain) is Probable

Bradley Beal (Left Hamstring Injury Management) is Questionable

Eric Gordon (Left Groin Soreness) is Questionable

Damion Lee (Right Meniscus Surgery) is Out

Nassir Little (Left Knee Inflammation) is Out

Suns coach Frank Vogel told reporters after yesterday's practice that Nurkic would be good to go despite some ankle soreness. Vogel also revealed Beal and Gordon did non-contact work.

I'd like to see Beal back but I guess, don't rush him.

I’ll forgive you this time but, don’t let it happen again. 😜

Seriously, thanks for being you. Do you know the definition of an optimist? A trombone player with a beeper. What’s the difference between a money market account and a drummer? One will mature and make money. Thank you. I’ll be here all week. Don’t forget to tip your bartender and your servers.

Austin Rivers sucks, Suns by 50.
Jones and Vogel out, Lue or Lee in, draft Grant Nelson or Tyler Kolek.

Beal's just not going to be healthy. It's turned into a completely wasted, lost year for him.

Now, let's all sing the Official Suns National Anthem, "Maybe Next Year".

I'm not ready to do that yet. It could be that they're just not rushing him and prioritizing his availability when it really matters.

That could be, but in my opinion, it already matters. Not so much for wins and losses, which are important but not critical, but for creating some level of consistency and familiarity between the players. It really feels like there's a vanishingly small window for the players to get to know each other before the playoffs hit and every game really is critical, and with every game that goes by that window gets closer to shutting entirely.

It's not quite as bad, yet, as last year's attempts to incorporate KD with only eight healthy regular season games, but it's getting close.

Pretty thin tonight with no Beal, EG, Little, and Lee…wonder if we see Roddy get some time.

Lee, Okogie, Roddy, Bol, Thad, and Eubanks will be the bench…guess Udoka and Maledon as well.

Very physical so far but the refs are letting them play. Book is feeling it, the ball is moving around well and the team looks locked in. Rockets are missing a lot of shots. KD is still off.
