Not to be debbie downer but the way we've played this season, what's really the point of winning a first round series against an injured TWolves team? Maybe it saves some face for the franchise but larger issues are still looming. Unless things really clicked and the team all of a sudden became some juggarnaut on both ends, we're just delaying the inevitable.
I don't think it would delay anything. Ishbia can see what's going on. Just play it out best then can and then make adjustments in the off-season.

If the team does well (advances a round or two) Ishbia may be more likely to break the bank to pay for keeping the core of the team together, re-signing our FAs, etc. Do we want that?

I'm not sure all the pieces are there but I do think who we have now should be better than what they've shown us. At this point, I'm willing to bet it's the coaching staff. So while everyone points to paying for players and the tax bill, will Ishbia cut a coach and his staff after a year and either go with Young or bring in someone else- maybe another big name coach he'll have to pay like Budenholzer?

But it'll all come down to what the team shows in a playoff series, assuming there is one. If they look prepared and motivated, it may change the outlook of the offseason. If they're mostly flat, keep turning the ball over and playing uninspired, the writing will be on the wall.

A question I have…how much money, if any, is Ishbia going to lose paying for this team?

Maybe it's the coach, maybe it's something else. None of us really know what's going on though I wish we did. Hopefully this team can figure it out during the off season b/c I'm afraid KD doesn't have that many years left.

He'll probably make a lot of money when/if he sells someday. Sarver made a ton when he sold. But in the short term, yeah, Ishbia is burning through many tens of millions of dollars in taxes and fees just to keep this mediocre roster together.

Ishbia says he doesn’t ever plan to sell…I’m just curious…is that 50 million dollar tax bill just taking away his profits or is he paying that out of his pocket. I don’t question his willingness to spend when the team is good, but I could see him saying he’s not paying 50 million for a first round exit.

Side note, the luxury tax payments just going to the teams that didn’t pay the luxury tax is lame. The rich get richer…distribution of wealth amongst billionaires. They should donate it all to charities.

Rockets are 9-1 in their last 10 games, just destroyed the Jazz, and now breathing down the warriors neck for the last play in spot. Would be a dangerous play in team if they get in.

It would be hilarious if they got in and I’d want no part of them in a do or die game. Rockets also have 4 more games against Utah/Portland…they also play the Warriors. Warriors should be in must win mode every game

I would LOVE a Lakers/Rockets 9-10 game.

Rockets a dangerous matchup for anybody, right now. Confident and fearless.
Attack like a starving junkyard dog.

I honestly don't think this stuff makes the Clippers any less dangerous in the playoffs. They can beat anyone if they're healthy.

Yes, but, will they be? For how many years straight they haven't been. They have an absolutely nasty team that can never make it through an 82-game season.

NBA needs an All Headcase Team... Beverly, Harden, Bridges, Morant, Ayton, Green and Poole could all make cases for first team.

Every year, so I get it.

Ironically, I think their biggest issue has been missing Westbrook recently.
