It's not about crying over Cam Payne. If the Suns made that deal but then had a journeyman point guard with playoff experience ready to come in, I would be fine with the trade. But they didn't. And that's why that deal was a problem.

All offseason, and even in the previous season leading up to the deadline, all the talk was talking about finding proven guys and guys that we could trust in the postseason. But then all of a sudden, we're going place hope in Jordan Goodwin?! That's amateur hour, but that's what this front office did.

Payne was good when starting. Even in the playoffs.

You can’t tell me that the lineup I had them starting last summer wouldn’t have been better than what we’ve been subjected to this season:

SG Bradley Beal
SF Devin Booker
PF Kevin Durant
C Deandre Ayton

Or even switch Beal and Booker to let Booker stay at SG. He should never have been our PG. Terrible mistake.

That also would have kept continuity with three of our starters going back to at least 2020 with the team.

Payne was good when starting. Even in the playoffs.

Good is a little bit of a stretch. But he had value. Part of the reason the Suns won those two games against Denver is because Payne's ability to push the pace was a plus. He didn't perform that well statistically. But just having a point guard pushing the ball instead of walking it up and dribbling a ton, gave the offense some life.

Yeah, I do think the chances are high that Lue comes here. But that is somewhat disappointing because it will mean that we're just running it back with the same group.

He hit a 3 last night. His shot looks good often and I bet he makes them all day long in practice. It’s a confidence issue with him. He was even hitting at like 40% for half the season last year before the playoffs…then he got benched and lost his confidence…or the moment was too big.

Yep, and I do not get the love for Ty Lue. He has won one championship with a 31 year old Lebron, 23 year old Kyrie as well as a great complimentary cast including and in prime Kevin Love. He currently is getting schooled by Jason Kidd. Oops, we should have drafted Doncic.

My vote is for Ish to throw the bag at Dan Hurley. I can guarantee you that if you do not play hard for him, your ass is going to be on the bench. He wants to coach in the NBA at some point, why not next year. What in the hell do we have to lose?

The first action of every offensive set is easily denied by a defender resulting in what looks like a risky pass. Then the second action looks worse. It’s not supposed to be this hard. This isn’t just a wolves defense, it looked ugly all year.

We need to go 5 out with the shot creators we have. They need more space. The offense works when we go small. Attaching our 2024 1st to Nurk for a stretch 5 on draft night would help. I don’t know if there is a stretch 5 in the draft.

We need a 5 who can be a primary ball handler and finisher at the rim or stretch the floor. Lol.

He always has to deal with injuries to his star players with the Clippers. And they’re still tied 2-2. Like I’ve always said, best case scenario is the Clippers flame out again in the playoffs due to injuries and they let Lue leave.
