Game Day: Lakers (0-1) @ Suns (0-0), Wed 10/29/14

Post by Superbone »

Time: 7:00 pm Arizona/Pacific (10:00 pm ET)
Place: US Airways Center, Phoenix, AZ
TV: FSAZ, TWC

It is finally here! The depleted LA Lakers come to town for the Suns home/season opener. Unfortunately, LA lost rookie big man Julius Randle to a fractured tibia last night in a loss to Houston in their home opener. PJ Tucker begins the first of his three game suspension tonight.

Go Suns!!!

Ouch, but fuck 'em. Sad to hear about Randle though, especially since he is 19 years old and this was first official NBA game.

I get the feeling the starting lineup will be this but I guess we will see.

Man, my Lakers voodoo doll sure is working. Kobe shot something like 6-17, Randle broke a bone in his leg (ouch!), and the Lakers lost big to Houston. I never wish for injuries, but wow, that's almost as bad as their first game could go without Kobe himself tearing something. I can't help but enjoy Laker suffering and I think this season will provide that to me in spades.

This season opener should be a fun rout. Let's show the Lakers they have no chance, right out of the gate.

http://www.sportsinjuryclinic.net/sport ... a-fracture

What is a tibial fracture?
Tibia fractures are normally caused by trauma. Whether a sporting injury, a fall at home or a fall at work, the tibia can have a variety of complex injuries that often involve the knee and ankle as well.
Fractures include a break to the tibia (the load bearing bone) and often the fibula (the thinner lateral bone of the lower leg). Fractures can be proximal (upper), mid or distal (lower). Full recovery takes at least a year and sometimes two.

Wow. Long time recovery for Randall.

“Kobe had said (after the play) I wasn’t hugged enough as a child,” Bell recalled. “My mom kind of found him after the instance and we had beat them and offered him a hug in the bowels of the Phoenix arena. She really feels a part of that story.”

One of my favorite days of the year! Go Suns! I hope they just smash the Lakers! I watched them get worked by the Rockets last night. The Lakers are in for a long year and I fully intend to sit and watch with a smile on my face. Kobe may end up killing a teammate before the season is out.

I feel like Dragic can be a good matchup for Kobe. He's a fiery defender and can get under Kobe's skin. We should run the hell out of them and make Kobe's knees hurt.

They're tired on a back-to-back after traveling, and on top of that, they suck. We'll crush them. Win by at least 16 points.
