Ryan Anderson is a nice player, but I'm struggling to see what he offers that we aren't already getting with leuer and teletovic

Yeah, I would like to be able to mix it up, instead of having roughly 3 of the same guy at varying levels.

We need a bruiser who defends and gets rebounds.

hmmm how about the idea of trying to get the Pelicans pick into the equation. They've had a crappy enough start that it may turn into a lotto pick, but may be desperate enough to make to the playoffs to include (think Aaron Brooks trade). Then we have 3 first rounders next year right? Could be useful in upgrading to a higher pick or including in a trade.

I would love Ryan Anderson on the team.
I would even entertain the idea of playing him instead of Tucker when Chandler returns.

One thing you cannot accuse Markieff of is being a liar. He said in the off-season that he wouldn't play for the Suns and he has been true to his word.

I also don't think Ryan Anderson will be a significant upgrade. He's also due for a new contract, and is not particularly young. I'd love to get some spacing out of the four spot, but not at the expense of defense and rebounding. This may be kind of silly but I'd even take on a guy like Trevor Booker. If we can't have brothers on the same team can't we at least claim to have the best Bookers in the league?

Ryan Anderson is significantly better than Booker and a decent rebounder too.

We couldn't really trade for a mediocre bruiser-type since they wouldn't pair well with Len or Chandler.

I'm all for Anderson. We can deal with his contract in the offseason.

We don't need other bruisers. We have Len and Chandler. They are our bruisers. We just don't use them enough.

We just need to get rid of Tucker and Markieff.

Warren should start and Teletovic should back him up.

Anderson could start at the 4 and Leuer could back him up.

If we're going around the 2 guards as our main offense, we need to surround them with shooters and players who can move the ball. Booker, Teletovic, Leuer, Anderson.....all these players fit that mold. Tucker doesn't belong on the court. Morris would be good if he gave half a shit.

Anderson is a decent rebounder, but to my untrained eyes he seems slow footed and not long enough to be effective as a post defender. I don't have any issues with his shooting, but having a guy that can be a net positive on defense in the paint would be nice. The contract comment was more as a comparison to Terrence Jones who has been mentioned as a possibility, but dismissed due to his impending contract renewal.

Booker puts up decent numbers when given minutes but I'm not sure what his skill level is against starter level competition, so I was just throwing that out there.

I really like Anderson, but strategically using Markieff to get him (if it is just him) doesn't look like a sound decision. People know Kieff can play and above all, that he's dirty cheap. As much as he has screwed up, we are not talking about two second round picks.

Ryan Anderson is a hell of a role player (also injury prone) but is not going to turn around this team, and there is a pretty good chance you are left with just cap space after some months.

Instead of this route, I'd go with a package that gives us something under control for the future. 1stR picks, kids under the rookie scale, or a worthy RFA like Motiejunas.

Ryan Anderson is a great fit at PF for us. I think he's better than Teletovic and my new favorite, Leuer overall. He's still only 27 even though he's been around for 8 years already. He's a solid guy so it would be a huge 180 in attitudes from Markieff. The fact that he's a UFA and can split after the season when everyone and their grandmother will have room to offer a max contract (not that he'll get a max) is a huge issue. We have to get a positive asset for the future if we move Markieff. As many have said Anderson is also redundant with the skill sets of our other PFs.

Something else to consider is that Teletovic started the season 6-18 from 3 in his first 8 games. Since then he's 41-85 for 48%. He's never shot over 40% from the season so it's kind of a stretch to think he'll remain like this for long. That is blistering hot though.

Leuer is only a year younger than Anderson but with a better injury history by far and much less mileage on his legs. He's shooting 43% from 3, and averaging 8 & 5 in just 19 minutes. More importantly he passes the ball. He's definitely a rotation player and at this point I'm ok with playing him and Mirza as our PFs for the season.
