Game Day: Suns (12-23) @ Kings (12-20), Sat 1/2/16

Post by Superbone »

Time: 3:00 pm AZ (2:00 pm PT / 5:00 pm ET)
Place: Sleep Train Arena, Sacramento, CA
TV: FSAZ/NBATV

Finally a winable game? However consensus is to lose a close one? I just hope to see the young guys continue to thrive and move the ball, bring some consistent effort and then I'm happy.

Go Suns!!!

Lol. Down 15 to the Kings in the 1st. Hornacek hasn't called a timeout and Len just got his 3rd foul.

Tucker can't guard Cousins. That's silly.

The Kings have the two best players in this game: Cousins (by a mile) and Rondo. Man do we have a bad team. We don't have a single player on the roster who is a top ... 50? player in the NBA.

Aaaaaand somehow we are ahead by 1. I love watching TJ Warren. It's great to see Booker get big minutes, too. I don't think we need to be rid of Bledsoe per se, but we need one of the Knight-Bledsoe duo gone for sure. The team is so much better without the two of them together.

Isn't this just a long way of saying you want to get rid of Knight? haha.

Bellinelli has that leg kick mastered down pretty well.

Did the Suns really give up a 44 point quarter to the Kings?

Just gave up 44pt in the 3rd, down 16 now heading into the 4. TJ is awful on defense, Price is a very solid backup PG but shouldn't be seeing more than 10-12mpg. Boogie just dominated us because we didn't have a true 5 out there. Leuer's no match for him Mirza's a non factor in the paint. So basically, their guards and bigs are eating us alive.

I still like Leuer as a back 4/3, Booker is a stud who just needs more seasoning. I'd say they're our highest BBall IQ guys.

Kieff with the DNP. I wonder what coach does to decide who he is going to play? It seems so random at times.

Really happy with the minutes for TJ and Booker. I know Len got a ton of fouls early. I figured they were just going to play him when Cousins wasn't on the floor in the 2nd half but once again coach just doesn't go back to him at all.

Archie into the game. First possession a "controlled" drive to the basket. :)

You just have to wonder why the Kings are so bad. It's like the 4th year in a row I'm saying this, but on paper they should be better than 12-20. You look out on the court and you see a Suns team that is young, with absolutely no inside presence, missing their best player and a severe lack of depth. The Kings have 2 all-stars in Rondo and Cousins (although I'm not a Rondo fan) 1 of the best backup pgs in the game in Collison, shooters in Casspi and Belleneli and really a roster filled with veterans with a good coach.

Yet when you watch the kings you can kinda see the effort isn't consistant, particularly on defense and I think that tone is set by DeMarcus

Gonna turn this one off and flush the memory of it. Sucks that we started the new year off the same way it ended.

According to ESPN's Real Plus MInus, our top active player is Jon Leuer, who ranks #86 in the league. (Bledsoe ranks #30.)

30. Eric Bledsoe
86. Jon Leuer
126. Mirza Teletovic
160. Alex Len
162. Ronnie Price
164. AASE
198. Tyson Chandler
279. PJ Tucker
293. Markieff Morris
315. Sonny Weems
336. TJ Warren (huh?)
341. Archie Goodwin
360. Devin Booker

Bryce Cotton and Corey Jefferson don't show up at all in their list. Don't know why.

I dunno. If they actually start beating teams it might save Coach's job. We don't want that. :)

I think Price is a guy who should net us a 2nd rd pick at the deadline. Like you said a backup pg or emergency 3rd pg for a playoff team. He;s played well....not his fault he's in the wrong situation.
