D'Angelo Russell is going to be a hell of a player. Way too many people were rushing to label him a bust after 30 or so games as a 19 year old.

I agree, I think I'd still take him 3rd, maybe 4th if the draft was redone today. Towns-Porzingis-Russell-Turner-Booker

While I'm no fan of Okafor, I think he probably still ranks somewhere above Booker.

I don't like okafor. I guess my bias showed up a little, but if it was up to me I'd take Booker over him. The way the NBA is going, having a big that doesn't protect the rim or spread the floor isn't good. He is a great scorer in the post but you've got to have an ibaka type 4 next to him.

Certainly. I don't think Okafor's game matches the modern NBA style at all. For him to be serviceable he needs to hold up on the defensive end, maybe not chase a shooter out to the wing but at least not be a huge defensive negative, given that the center position is so critical for all of team defense. Booker is no Gary Payton either, but I guess wing defender weaknesses are easier to mask.

On the other hand, wing players are easier to find vs. talented big men, so other teams may value the two differently. I'm glad we have Booker, especially since I'm still holding out hope that Len can at least have a relatively lengthy Mark West type career.

Beasley's back... 1/5 shooting in 4 first-half minutes for the Rockets against Chicago with a +/- of -8

I was on record as saying he'd be the best player from last years class. KAT Towns looks like he is the gold standard right now though, but still...their both going to be future allstars IMO. If you watched Russell in college he has the IT factor. Sam Hinkie really wanted him here in Philly.
“Kobe had said (after the play) I wasn’t hugged enough as a child,” Bell recalled. “My mom kind of found him after the instance and we had beat them and offered him a hug in the bowels of the Phoenix arena. She really feels a part of that story.”

Word on the street is that the Warriors went out and partied too much in LA the night before the early Sunday game vs the Lakers.

Not surprised. It will be a good wake up call for them, if they really do want to break the Bulls record.
