It was just about what I expected. The son as a junkie was an interesting twist. It started a little slow, but then again it was expected since they have to set up the characters and establish a normal life before they turn it all upside down. It appears this series will end their season and the Walking Dead will start right up.

It appears this series will end their season and the Walking Dead will start right up.

Yeah i thought it wasn't very good. I'm hoping for a lot more. It isn't like you have to rope in a new audience. They will be happy to watch almost anything with this title for 6 episodes, so go all out! They played it too safe.

I think like any book you read you have to sit through the beginning where they introduce the characters to you. Everybody watching that for the most part is already a die hard Walking Dead fan and has seen everything you can do with a zombie already. These are all new characters and this takes place right at the very beginning of the Zombie Apocolypse. It has to show life as a regular dysfunctional family before it all turns to said shit.

I did like the drug addict son waking up after a binge at an abandoned church thinking, "What happened last night." Then to wander downstairs and see your girlfriend munching on some dead guy before turning on you and wondering, "Am I hallucinating?" He spends the rest of the show wondering if he is seeing things and going crazy.

It's definitely a slow start but I think that's by design. I think it may arc in a pretty quick crescendo. I can see it picking up quickly as soon as the next show and really taking off in intensity.

Anyone catch the doctor's comments about the old man who flatlined? "If we don't get him up in 60 seconds, get him downstairs", "we still don't know what this is". Then the nurse shushed him and gave a look at the junkie son. Nice touch. Also liked the kid with the knife.

It looks like they're going for a slow burn that will quickly spiral out of control with riots over the perceived police brutality against the dead.

Yeah, he had it figured out early and she didn't believe him. At the end he is on the bus looking at her like "Still think I am paranoid lady!" and she acknowledges him from afar as if to say "Sorry, you were right."

I enjoyed the second episode. The next one in two weeks? Already hooked on this show.

The smart kid gets his knife back. He sure does seem to know an awful lot about Apocolypse's. It's entertaining to see all the things we take for granted slowly all go away. Safety, infrastructure, utilities. They were riding the "riot" out and I see the girl open the refrigerator to get something out while the lights flicker. I was thinking that was probably the last time she will ever open that refrigerator or any other refrigerator to get food. Calling your loved ones on the cell phone? Cell service seems to be getting spotty. Somebody is attacking the neighbor girl across the street? Close the door and ignore it.

"We can't get to you right now. Just go to the desert and we will meet up with you later."

Really? The desert is a pretty big place. I was thinking they will never see each other again except that they are the stars of the show. You reached the open desert. You are all safe now....

It is interesting that the beginning of the zombie apocalypse was started when people mistook police shooting zombies as police brutality causing riots, which fueled the zombie apocolypse. Way to tie the show into current events.

Fear The Walking Dead took a big step up tonight. Finally getting interesting.

Yeah, it's kind of weird how much better The Walking Dead is. The writing is pretty bad on Fear. The characters seem to mostly be idiots. It's already been green lit for a second season though so it has nowhere to go but up.

I don't think they are idiots--we just know so much more than they do at this time. So that part is kind of interesting. The last episode was OK--certainly better than all the other episodes combined.

I have watched the episode three times now. Something is wrong with me. You know what I hate? When the show previews of upcoming episodes. I know it's supposed to create excitement but, I really don't want to know. I want to experience it without kind of knowing already. We have the show set to record on DVR and we saw The Walkng Dead recorded and thought the season started. It was a 5 minute preview of the upcoming season. We were into it a little while before figuring out. Just a pet peeve of mine.

I am like you Indy. Once I start a show I have to finish it, even if I really don't like the show that much. Like when Rossana played and the station cuts the song off right as the guitar solo starts. Bastards!

The horn. Somebody is really mean or really pissed off.

Easy fix--Don't watch it! Seriously, I always stop it before the previews. I am like you in that I want to experience the show without any preconceived notions. Especially those scenes specifically chosen to draw in audiences with excitement.

I do turn off the previews when they start.

That's pretty much the way I experience the Suns almost every year. At the end of the season I go into non Suns mode. I don't really keep track of anything going on in the off season. I like to turn on the first game televised and start from there with a clean slate and an open mind. That goes against what most of us Suns fans do but, I am Abby Normal.
