This is a song from a band promo video we just shot for the band I am in. I kind of just wanted to post in a thread but didn't want to pollute it with my stuff. None of you guys will come watch me play so I brought it to you. :D

Superbone'would probably be the only guy that appreciates it. Hope you like it.

Mercy Mercy

More to come, sorry.

Look forward to checking this out when I'm on my computer! In a busy / loud place with my cellphone. I just started playing myself and consider myself a bit of a music junkie. Thanks for sharing Nodack!

Nice! Funky and tight! And that guitar player is a sexy mofo. :) The only thing I was disappointed about was the lack of guitar solo. Nice solo on keys though.

Thanks guys. No guitar solo. We were shooting promos and trying to keep it short. Besides those guys are better soloists than me, so you are probably lucky there was no guitar solo. I usually play electric on that but, we were going for the unplugged look. We did a bunch of other video shorts and that was just the first one put up. We end up playing pop music with vocals too.

Oh thank god. I was worried you were on sax, Nodack.

This is great Nodack! Has almost like a late night introduction vibe to the Late Show or something really hip. My parents dig a lot of this music and it definitely makes me feel good.

To give you an idea of how night and day, I'm a week into learning how to play my Seagull S6:

Nice AmareIsGod. It's a lifetimes journey learning guitar and you never learn it all. If you make it past a year and don't get too frustrated and quit you might be on your way.

That video was done in the leaders living room. The leader had a rebel Canon and I had the exact same camera as well as a GoPro. Then he rented two Canon Mark V's and a couple nice lenses and some photography lights. He ordered a bunch of table cloths, nailed them up and we put a bunch of the bands small stage led lights on blue pointed up at the black drapes/table cloths. He put down black floor mats and add in the string Edison lights for depth and it looked cool. We played live into a digital mixer that went right into Logic Audio. Luckily the leader's day job is doing video and audio for an ad agency because I would have never been able to synchronize five cameras and all the separate audio tracks of the band plus the cameras into something usable. He, his wife and a friend of his were the cameramen.

I think it looks great for a do it yourself video. I hope some of my parts came out because my in ear monitors were freaking out and I yanked them out and went without, then I couldn't hear anything but drums, a little bass, a little sax and a little acoustic guitar.
thank god. I was worried you were on sax, Nodack.
You didn't like him? I think he is an awesome Sax player. We call him the doctor because he has a doctorate in music or the Sax or something.

Love On Top

That's very cool how you guys staged it. When I watched the first video, I just thought it was done in a recording studio.

I tried to imbed the YouTube videos but it doesn't seem to work for me. I copied the link into the youtube thing like I used to and it doesn't work.

I think you might need to use the full address rather than the shortened youtu.be addresses.

Not sure how to get the full address. I copied the "copy link". I'll stick with music I guess.

The updated finished promo.

Grab the address from the address bar at the top of the screen. You'll see www.youtube.com\...

Wow, Nodack. You can sing! Nice job.

Thanks guys. I also just finished a solo country album/CD that is about to be released. I'm not a big fan of country music but, I was asked to write 10 by a Publisher friend of mine so I did. I am pretty proud of it since I wrote, recorded, mixed and mastered the whole thing myself in my home studio. I even did the promo picture myself. Talk about low budget.

What do we call these things now? In the old days we bought albums, records, cassettes and CDs. Now what do we say? I just released an album? Nobody listens to albums. I just released my mp3s on the web? That doesn't sound right either. I am making some CDs so I can say CD but, most sales now days are mp3s and there's no cool way to say that.

Go with "I just dropped some fresh beats" and pretend like you are in the early 2000s.

Hey, 'Dack, where can we find the band's performance schedule? I went to the website and it only shows through July. I showed the promo video to my mom and she wants to check out the band in person.

That's awesome! The schedule is supposed to be on the site. The leader takes care of that and slacks sometimes. Most of our gigs are private functions but, we do play some Casinos etc.

We play Sept 3 and 19 at WHP Casino 9:30-1:30
We are in Sierra Vista Sept 9-10 for their Octoberfest.
